I have a 92 sonoma 2.8 manual trans that has no power going to several fuses on the fuse block. There is nothing to ecmb, tail lights, dash lights and a couple hot expansion ports. Had the same problem withthe same fuses on one of my 93 s and jumping those spots solved the problem for now. However, when I jump any one of the dead sections on this truck, it attempts to turn the starter on. Makes no sense. Any suggestions besides " i have a short somewhere" because thats obvious

I was given some nice blankets and a vacuum cleaner to later be informed the house they came from possibly had bed bugs. Upon getting the blankets I imediately washed them in warm water, soap, and bleach because who knows where they've been (even though they're nice!) The vacuum got fully disassembled and cleaned, because that's my line of work, and not once did I see any bug of any type on the blankets or in/on the vacuum. Seeing that they're already in my home throwing them away I would assume wouldn't solve any problems, if there are some. Am I safe with what I did?

I currently have 2 unneutered male cats of unknown age. I suspect one is 1-1.5 and the other seems much older for his size. I have had them for a month, and the younger cat only went outside of the box twice, both times I believe because he smelt dogs on some stuff I have. It wasn't like he sprayed, he just took care of #1 on the floor near these items. Now, I've had this cat that has started coming around my house and I have paid no attention to him short of giving him a bowl of water and talking to him while I work outside. Regardless, he has taken to sitting by my back door crying day and night, waiting for me to come outside. From what I can tell it is an older, reasonably well-fed, declawed, and neutered male.

It is my understanding males will mark their territory when they are around other males and a female, but if I were to add this cat to the family it'd be 3 males in the house, what's my chance of my cats marking territory against this new guy? Does the fact that mine are unneutered and he is neutered have any correlation? Honestly I'd prefer this new cat over my younger one but he is very close to my other cat and they have already clearly established I'm their owner so I'd hate to break that up.

As part of a "rehabilitation program" I have to go through for a charge against a tobacco pipe found in my car (long story, but would have tested positive for pot residue), I have to take a random monthly drug test. I do not smoke marijuana and this random test would be a cake walk if it wasn't for my daily environment. Almost daily I work with and around someone who smokes continuously (he's 100% legal in doing so) and sometimes I'm around when he and his card-carrying friends are smoking. I'm concerned that I will fail the tests continually considering I am stuck in these circumstances indefinitely, or at least for the period in which I have to test. Added to it, I have read that increased exercise and activity heighten THC levels, which I feel makes it even more damning for me because my job usually consists of a good workout-constant movement and exercise. What can I do??

The clutch fluid reservoir in my car has snapped off at the nipple connecting to the fluid hose. There is not a parts store in the country that seems to have a clutch reservoir for an 86 Isuzu Impulse. Will brake fluid eat through super glue?

My 95 Escort has had a lifter tick that would go away every once in a while, and was never noticable except at idle rpm. Being concerned about lack of oil flow to the valve(s) that where ticking, I took a look under the valve cover to find what looks like a spring retainer stuck next to one of the springs. The intake and exhaust valves on cylinder #3 were both missing this almost round piece that has a lip on one end that rests on the lifter and a raised section around the open middle that looks like the rocker arm tightens up against it. It's definitely not a keeper based on all the pictures I've seen online. And any info I've been able to gather on the term spring retainer hasn't produced any products that look remotely like what i have. There also looks like there is supposed to be a zig-zag shaped retaining clip that holds this keeper to the lifter and cylinder head. the rocker arm doesn't have any vertical play, but has substantial horizontal play compared to the ones that have this retainer, which have no play. Car runs fine but I certainly don't need to be messing up lifters and rocker arms in the future by driving like this any longer. The worst part is I wonder where the other retainer went.

I have 3 gallons of a somewhat dark gray flat interior paint, and I have 1 gallon of satin blue paint. No one in the house wants the dark gray, but I want to use it up, so I was thinking if I add the blue I should end up with a slightly lighter gray with a shade of blue to it. Does that sound like what the result would be with this combination of 3 gallons dark gray and 1 gallon light blue?

I have a 18" fluorescent work light that the transformer busted off of. It has a 15 watt bulb in it. How can I calculate the correct amount of voltage needed to run this bulb, and how can I make that reduction coming from a 120v outlet/plug?

I am planning a road trip from Detroit MI to a city in New York called Macedon. I would like to take the easy route by driving through Canada, but I have only been to Canada once and it was with someone who knows Canada well and we didn't go far from the Windsor tunnel. Do I need to exchange currency for when I stop for gas and I think there's tolls on the way?

I would be ok with driving through the states and taking an additional hour to reach my destination, but it's all toll-ways there, and that adds up over a couple hundred miles.

I have experienced some power issues with my truck over an unknown amount of time (6 months maybe) I believe it started with an egr code, which I have done nearly everything in my power to resolve and have not found a resolution. Gas mileage decreased but I didn't really have an aggravated problem with acceleration/power, though it has never been as quick to respond as I would expect. More recently, I upgraded my tire size and as expected, gas mpg went down a little further, but I have noticed a big decrease in the truck's ability to accelerate. Going on the freeway it takes at least 2x the distance to reach the speed I would before( I took speedometer inaccuracy into account), and on inclines it has no power. To me, I don't see how the tires could affect that, that almost sounds like a clogged cat. In the 2 years and 17k miles I've had it, it has also never seemed to have a W.O.T., floor it and barely any response except in 1st-3rd gears. Dummy computer throttle control?

I would also not expect a vehicle with 53k on it to have a clogged cat, but I wouldn't be surprised as the previous owner managed to burn through most of the clutch before I got it at 37k(unknown fact at purchase!)

2001 ranger 3.0 engine.

I have a John Deere lt 155 that is having issues with the drive belt. Whenever the clutch is depressed after the tractor is running the belt flings off the engine and trans pulleys. The belt seems to have good tension, but I do notice it isn't as fast as I know it should be, especially on inclines. The clutch mechanism also looks like it is working as it should. I heard there is an idler adjustment, but I thought that was only to tighten the belt for when it is engaged. Could that adjustment affect it when it's disengaged or does this sound like a stretched belt?

Looking into a 93 chevy pickup with the 4.3 that the owner just found out it has a leaky head gasket. I know the engine bay in those trucks has alot of room to play with and not many accessories/junk in the way that have to be removed, but what does it entail to replace the head gaskets on these?

I am looking into putting bigger tires on my chevy 1500. There is no lift on it and it's a 2x4. Stock size is 235/75/15 and I'm looking at 31x10.5's or 32x11.5. I'm pretty confident the 31's will fit and won't rub in the front. Does anyone else know if the 32's will fit on a 1500 without a lift or wheel spacers? And because the suspension should only drop the body as much as it did with the old tires; since the new ones are 3" taller that means the body should sit 3" taller (respectively) too right? I'm just debating if the bigger tires are worth it. I actually found a cheaper set of 32's than every set of 31's I've seen for sale.

I replaced one bulb because the high beam didnt work. put the new bulb in and i had to play with the socket to get it to work at all. once i got that side(the right side) to work, now the drivers side bulb,which was still and is still good, doesnt work. I'm at a loss as to how this happened. It is my understanding that neither bulb is dependant on the other, but if were to be the case, based on how they are wired the passenger would be dependant on the drivers side. I checked the ground and checked for loose wires but still nothing on the left side. truck is a 93' chevy w/t 1500.

Have a wire issue on a 97' escort that causes parking light fuse to blow every time the lights are turned on. Wire short is somewhere not worth tracing in the main harness. Which wire going to the tail lights is for the parking lamps and where can I splice a new power w/ switch in so it controls both back lights?

I totaled my 91 gmc sonoma with the 2.8 engine, and was wondering if there is any possible way to put that engine in a 93 1500 with the 4.3 in it. I have never had a better running, more reliable, decent gas mileage engine than that 2.8. Even after totaling the truck and dislocating the engine it still runs and drives. I know the 2 have basically the same wiring, just different computer. But what about the engine mounts, will they match up? The other major concern obviously is the trans. the 1500 has a nv3500 5 speed. what are my chances of mating that to the 2.8?

1987 Honda riding mower floods out spiratically once running for a long time. I cut two 1/3 acre lawns once a week, and about 3 quarters towards finishing the mower will start smoking and loose power. if I remove any loads on the engine, it stops smoking and is good for another couple minutes. I am assuming that it is flooding out, because now i see fuel pour out of the carb intake when it begins to smoke. I cleaned the carb, and even tried a carb from my parts machine, which worked fine in that mower, yet it still does it. Fuel filter is fine and i don't see how the fuel pump could be the cause, as a friend suggested. My only thought is there is a 2nd hose coming off the carb that runs to this little box, which i suspect is a breather and possibly it is clogged? but i blew it out too and still the same issue

I am having starting issues with my truck. I took it to a parts shop with a scanner and the guy hooked it up and ran some tests and he said everything was where it was supposed to be as far as battery health, starting, and charging, except his machine was reading 640 +/- cca instead of 550 as the battery is rated, so he suggested that maybe it is the battery. So I replaced the battery and it still does the same thing. It cranks very slow, so slow it takes multiple attempts to get it to fire. Every once in a great while once warm it will turn over at a normal level and start, but that has been rare. Doesn't that sound like a dying starter? I'm hoping I can return the battery, which was about as much as a starter. I checked all the cables and connections, and everything is how it should be.

I did one of the dumbest things anyone could do; locked myself out. I was working at my storage building painting, and I didn't realize I didn't have my keys with me before I stepped outside and closed the door. Luckily, I had a window open. The only problem was there are bars on the window. There were 2 vertical and 1 horizontal. Having no other way to get back in, I cut the bars out and climbed through the window. I don't have any portable means of welding, so how could I reattach the bars? It is relatively thin steel T brackets basically. Can I use a soldering gun or propane torch with solder to 'weld' it back together. How about jb weld? I am not worried about the structural integrity-security of it, I just need to make it nearly look like it never happened.

I need to get dried latex paint off a textured window. I was spray painting and covered up the other window but didn't realize part of the second one was textured. The glass is unlike any I have seen before: it has a bubble-like surface that makes the glass translucent. A razor only got paint off the outward part of the 'bubbles', but how can I get it out from the tiny crevices in the glass? I only did one heavy spray, and most of what is on the special glass was overspray.

Will paint thinner or goof off work?
