  • Does my electric outlet have a short in it or what?

I noticed every time I use my wahl electric razor my outlets will stop working. It seems that it's the only thing that causes them to stop working, my wife uses her flat iron, blow dryer, and curling iron and has never had a problem. The outlets don't have a reset button and won't reset if I use something that does have a reset button built in. They will usually work the next day.

  • do i have the right to look at repairs made by previous landlord?

The landlord said that there was broken tile that needed to be replaced( it's actually linoleum, not tile) and charged 120 to fix it. Do I have the right to view the replaced "tile" because the linoleum was installed over trim. It used to be carpeted. Since the linoleum was installed over the trim and there is quite a raise that it will only split again for the new tenant because it doesn't sit flush with the floor. Hopefully you get what I mean.

  • Can a landlord keep my deposit if?

I was forced to move out of my apartment on August 22nd as I would be attending college(first day was August 23rd) and the landlord doesn't allow college students because it receives funds from the government to allow low income families to live there or something to that affect. Since I was forced to break my lease two months shy would the landlord be able to keep my deposit? I haven't received any notices in the mail or received my deposit back minus any expenses so I was just curious before I attempt to contact the landlord.

Also I did give 30 days notice(actually 40 days) and I let my landlord know I would be going back to school during my re-certification.

  • Property management company only accepts "good funds"?

I went in to put a deposit down on a duplex this afternoon only to be told that they wouldn't accept my check. They only accepted cash or money order, the woman then went on to explain to me the only reason they accept cash or money order so if your application is denied it is faster to refund your money. I told the woman it says no where on the application that they accept only cash or money order it says good funds. So here are my questions:

    1. The application states "We require the application fee(s) and Security Deposit, in good funds, at the time of application."

I looked up the meaning of good funds and it says "Collected funds in a bank account and usable immediately by the owner of the account."

    2. If I was denied application for the place why couldn't they return the check. It honestly takes an hour or so to run a credit and background check. So they could easily call me up say "You were denied we have your check, we voided it, here you go have a nice day."

  • Credit card company refunded annual fee?

Last November my credit card company started charging an annual fee that would be paid in January. I paid off my card in May, when I got my statement for June I had a -2.17 balance. Well today when I went to look at my account for any fraudulent charges my annual fee was refunded on June 21st. I paid my annual fee in January why 6 months later refund it? I then went to the website and looked at the terms and it doesn't mention an annual fee anymore like it used to. I would of thought I would of received something in the mail. My first thought was they were closing my account, but now I'm not sure. I thought I would ask here first, if no one knew then to call them(long wait time and I always get someone from India)

  • Difference between a volume and a season?

I'm on Amazon looking to buy some DVD series, but I'm unsure of the difference between a volume and a season. Amazon has volume 1-6, but they only have seasons 4-6. Both are released by Lions Gate so it only adds to the confusion.

  • How do I know if my Godaddy web hosting has been canceled?

I just got my domain name and hosting yesterday, but I don't think I have the knowledge at this time to successfully build my website the way I want too. So I canceled the hosting, but I just want to make sure it was successfully canceled. When I went to my websites page it says "this website is parked free courtesy of Godaddy.com" when before it said "web page coming soon." So does that mean it's canceled? Also my credit card doesn't show up with the charges yet, so I should only be charged for the domain name right and not the hosting?

  • Question about TiVo replacing cable box?

I was looking at the brochure for TiVo and it said it could replace your cable box so you wouldn't have to pay the rental for the box. So my question is if you had the extended channels(ie channels past 100) would the TiVo be able to pick up those channels or would you still need to have a cable box?

  • land lord wants me to replace all light bulbs?

I'm moving out and my land lord came over to do the walk through, I spent 5 days literally getting this apartment in better shape then when I rented it. Well she noticed that I had replaced all the light bulbs with the energy smart ones from GE. She told that I need to remove all the energy smart ones and replace them with the standard bulbs. I have no problem doing it, but that was the only thing she found wrong so I consider it nit picking. Its not like the bulbs are expensive its just I have to go to Walmart, ten minute drive, wait in line, then drive back then spend the additional time unscrewing all the light fixtures and replacing the bulbs, then wrap up the energy smart ones so they dont break. I can understand replacing broken and burnt out ones but replacing them because they're not "Standard" is pushing it. Anyone ever heard of this or this just being nit picky because she couldnt find anything wrong?
