I'm a Christian, hopefully unlike most. I try to deviate from the Bible-Thumpers and "REPENT YOU SINNERS" yellers, and try to give a peaceful, loving answer to atheist/agnostic/other religious questions about God and the Bible. I give Biblical reference as often as I can, unless requested that I not. I'm willing to read and understand alternate views, but request the same respect for the Christian religion.

  • Million dollar game fell off the face of the planet?

So, my friend is thinking of a video game that has to do with space, and you can do SO MUCH stuff with super powers (it's not star wars) and stuff, and it was for xbox original.

The catch is that the game manufacturers offered tons of prizes like a million dollars or something like that if people found the glitch that they put in there, or something like that. He wasn't too sure of the details. But he swears the game existed, and they had a massive recall on the game, and now it's completely gone.

I've spent the past half hour looking for it on google and turned up nothing. Any ideas?

  • What is the wedding arch?

I know there's a proper term for the arch that weddings are performed under. Anyone know what it is?

  • Question for religious extremists (Christian/Agnostic/Atheist)?

I see too many problems with the questions being asked on this stupid site. Why are there so many stupid generalities being thrown around? I don't fit into 95% of the stereotypes that are assigned to Christians. I don't even fit in with 95% of the Christians here.

I am NOT someone who answers all questions with "Read the Bible and have faith." I am NOT someone who comes to your door and demands that you repent or go to Hell. I am NOT a naive moron that follows everything the church tells me. I am NOT a person that "pretends" to know everything about science or your beliefs, and I am NOT someone who prejudges you.

So why is it so hard for some of you to ask or answer a simple question without shoving it down the opposing party's throat? Is there something SO REPULSIVE about the idea of God or no God that makes you unable to be sensitive enough to another human being about sharing your opinion in a kind and unbiased manner?

  • Old pixel game: Hostile Takeover?

There's a really old shareware(maybe?) game called Hostile Takeover. It's a strategy RPG-ish game with soldiers, wolves, pegasus's, phoenix's, and other stuff.

It's made by Lonely Gnome Studios, and I can't find it anywhere. Anybody got a clue where there's an archive of ancient shareware PC games or this game in particular?

  • Atheists: Is there a question you really want to ask?

I know a lot of Christians won't give you serious answers, or answers beyond "just trust in God." Which serious question do you most want an answer to? I know it's unlikely that I'll be able to give an answer that satisfies your idea of a concrete answer, but I will sincerely do my best.

You may e-mail me at seth.p@centrum.cz.

  • What initiates apathy?

I feel that apathy is one of the greatest (if not the single greatest) threat to human existence. What are your thoughts? Where do you think apathy begins (hopefully your answer is a bit deeper than "in the mind")? If you believe there is something worse than apathy, what is it and why?

  • Long Toes A Sign Of Royalty?

I've heard that if your second toe is longer than your big toe, it's a sign of royalty. Does anyone know where this comes from, and if it has any merit?

  • Atheists/Agnostics: Why do you think Christians are so closed minded?

Why do you feel (if you do) like Christians don't listen to you when you try to tell them what you think or believe? Please give rational answers. I'm asking a sincere question, and would only like sincere answers. I try to be respectful to everyone and would like to recieve the same.

What do you think would help Christians try to see from your viewpoint? Do you think it's impossible for a Christian to see what you see?

  • Atheists/Agnostics: What would be the greatest proof to you that God exists?

I posed this question before, and I'm asking it again.

If there was one absolute truth or event that could prove to you that God exists (yes, this is a hypothetical situation and I know it probably doesn't currently exist), what would it be?

    Examples:

    - He would have to show himself to you physically

    - give you everything you've ever wanted

    - stop world hunger and violence

    - tell you the meaning of life.

I'm honestly and Sincerely curious. I won't argue anything.

  • Atheists/Agnostics: Why not believe in God?

Okay, I'm going to talk a little about evolution, so if you're tired of this, this is your warning.

The wind exists without a doubt, right? How do we know? If I said "you can't prove the wind" and you said "just look at the trees moving" or "you can feel it now," I could say "God's doing that."

If I drove up in a corvette and told you "a tornado swept through a junkyard and this is what formed," you wouldn't believe me, right?

So I only have "evidence" that God exists, just like we only have evidence that the wind exists.

But there's so much evidence for an intelligent designer in the earth, that evolution couldn't possibly explain it all. The eruption of vestigial organs, the sudden appearance of millions of species, the lack of fossils that show the middle step between evolutionary periods, the grand canyon. The chances of all this being chance is a statistical impossibility thousands of times over, yet you believe it over the existence of a God. How and why?

  • Atheists: How far into counter-arguments have you studied?

This question is for atheists. I'm sure you all have your reasons for not believing in a God. You are convinced through evolution, science, Biblical flaws, etc. I'm just wondering how much research you've done on counter-arguments. I know a lot of atheists that call Christians narrow-minded because they haven't read into flaws of the Bible. I want to know how many of you have blindly believed what evolution and faulty science has taught you. What books have you read that have bashed evolution, or books that have supported Bible details?

  • Which bothers you more?

Two things I've found get on my nerves a LOT:

    1. People who claim all Christians are stupid, believe in anything, illogical, and all Bible-Thumpers. People who clump all Believers with the people who claim to be believers but live hypocritical lives.

    2. People who claim to be Christian, then demand to everyone they come across that the Bible is right, and they're sinners, and they deserve hell. People who say "just read the Bible" but don't give anywhere to look. People who think they're the holiest thing since swiss cheese.

I'm honestly bothered by both. I want to know your beliefs, your stand on the question (or even if you think both are equally bad), and what you think the best solution to the problem is.

Please be objective. No stupid answers like "evolution is bogus, why believe it?" or "there is no God, so what's the point in answering?"

  • What question about the Bible do you struggle with the most?

This is much like my question about God.

I have no desire to bash anyone for their beliefs, nor do I want to be bashed for my Christian beliefs. I want to know what non-believers struggle with believing most. I only ask a few conditions:

    1. You be respectful to Christianity and to other religions.

    2. You not make assumptions.

    3. You ask a serious question that has to do with the Christian religion.

    4. You're willing to hear my response.

I don't claim to be a professional philosopher or theologian, but I WILL try to answer all questions to the best of my ability, whether I have space on this question to answer, or whether I have to e-mail you.
