Last week, my grand mother's care taker let someone into my grand mother's house,he took my grand mother's car keys and stole her car.?

Update:

The crime happened in Dekalb County,GA he was arrested in Clayton County,GA. Why wasn't he charged with Auto theft or theft by taken? Where will he be tried? Will Dekalb County Police pick him up? The charges are below.

1 POSSESSION OF FIREARM BY FELON AND FIRST OFF PRO

2 LICENSE - DRIVING SUSP/REV

3 THEFT BY RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY

Update 2:

The police know all of this. I don't see how the care taker broke any laws, she just used bad judgement.

NEW ANSWER: I don't know the laws where you live. But I can imagine that if your grandmother chooses not to press charges then I suppose he can go free. As far as the theft anyway. But the other point: driving under a suspended or revoked license - he'll probably have to pay a fine.

Possession of a firearm by a felon - that has nothing to do with your grandmother. Likely he can face years in prison for that. As for where he may be tried: That will likely be in the county where he committed the offense(s).

    Hope this helps.

These are questions best asked to the District Attorney of DeKalb Co.

As for the caretaker, you need to see if elder neglect or abuse charges need to be filed.

Okay, then you should notify the police, not Yahoo! Answers.
