Answer
When learning to ride a unicycle, is a long crank better than a short one? ?
I was given a unicycle. My dad told me the crank is too short for a learner, he said it's better to ride with a longer crank until you get more experience. Is this true?
2 weeks agoI bought an old murray for $20 on craigslist and spent $50 for some new super razer slim 200 psi tires?
But why my average speed on my wally cycle computer remains 9.5 mph? It could be the extra weight of the slime I bought. I'm supposed to be averaging 15 at least. I used to train like the man missile but that was years ago. And I don't cycle for the ride. I cycle to go spend food stamps. Also since I live in North Las Vegas. I get weekly stopped by police.

2 Answers3 weeks agoWhat laws would you change for your city that are just a revenue source and don't do anything ?
For me it would be a excise tax on ebikes and 80cc bikes. It's moronic I need to
get a license plate for my electric fat tire bike and 80cc Schwinn Meridian and
before you say it's used to fix the roads my city hasn't done any road work on my
street I have lived on for 10 years and the same potholes go un repaired.

4 Answers1 month agoWhy can I only partially inflate my bike tyre?!?
So I went to put a bit of air in my bike tyre the other day and all the air leaked out the valve and I could only inflate it halfway. So I fitted a new inner tube AND bought a new pump.....and the tube still won’t inflate beyond about 10psi!! After I pump up to that level it just seems like no more air will go in. But it doesn’t leak out anywhere either - I returned the next day and it was still sitting there at 10 psi, which is unusable as it should be 50psi. Does anyone have any idea what is happening please?!
6 Answers1 month agoDo Road bike models share the same frame?
Take for example the 2020 Giant Defy Advanced.
They do:
Defy Advanced 1 (Ultegra)
Defy Advanced 2 (105)
Dedy Advanced 3 (Tiagra)
Is it the same frame but just different mech etc?
Thanks
6 Answers1 month agoChain popping off crankset. Advice?
Regardless of components and adjustment (new/used... chain/deraileur/chainrings... serviced, properly adjusted limits/tension/height...)
ANNOYING (No need to get off. I just shift down to catch chain then shifting into high = to put chain back on low chainring, shift down to low > back to high)
Chain pops off chainrings upon starting to pedal. upon my normal startup about 25% of time chain pops off. (Only solution I've found is to start in a crazy-low gear. Normal start is high-7th in 2x10 drivetrain. Easy 15+ mph in 3 car lengths. Easy 25+ mph average on flat, same speed as cars just faster startup @ lights) 9000+ miles yearly
Replace:
Chainrings @ 9-12 month, when visibly worn on side from shifting. Still good useable NOT "SHARK TOOTH" bike co-op accepts and uses on their bikes without a problem.
Chains @ 3 months approx 2000+ miles, 0.7 wear.
Cassette @ 8 months approx 6000+ miles
disc brake (pads @ 2 months. Rotors yearly)
