  • What are some Roku private channels that actually work in the US in 2021?

I recently found out after reading a bunch of blogs that you can add a bunch of private channels by entering a code on in your Roku online account and then watch them after you update your device. The problem is, most of the channels on their list don't work in the US. The first one I tried was the Internet Archive, which said something like "this channel has been disabled in your area." The only one that I've been able to work is a hack of Apple podcasts, which is pretty cool but it only streams audio.

Has anyone ever gotten any of the private channels to work and which ones were they?

  • what kind of camera is this?

I live in a condo.  One of the neighbors who has made himself a nuisance has installed this on his door, about 3-5 months ago, he got a heavy package about 20 inch x 20 inch x 6 inch and said he would be recording out front.  My concern is this particular guy has relentlessly harassed people including make false police reports.

Is it possible that this is just a plate securing a camera that is inside the door positioned where the peep hole would be?

(that white rectangle on top with the 3 screws and what looks like 3 holes on front, possibly others on the side.  I didn't want to get too close.  According to him, its a crime for me to be outside on my own porch (that we share).

  • Tablet Question for those who use them. Is it worth getting a tablet with phone/text capabilities or is WiFi only a better buy?

Yes I have a cell phone and computer.  For those of you who might ask "... well do you need or use text, phone..." I have texted on my older tablet as it is connected to my cell via my wireless plan not a tone, but some.

I also just bought a Samsung S6 lite and I didn't realize it is WIFI only.  I'm wondering if it would be worth it to exchange it and spend a little more and get a bit newer and "5G" tablet or just stick with the tablet I purchased.

I'm just looking for opinions to help me rationalize which would be a better purchase in the long run or in general.

  • Why does the right speaker disconnect on my Volkano brand wireless earbuds?

I have a pair of Volkano brand wireless bluetooth earbuds. They connect to my phone just fine. After about 5min the right speaker beeps, saying the battery is low, and then turns off leaving the left one on and playing while the right side is off. The same thing happens with every device it is connected to, old or new .

It doesn't matter if the earbuds are fully charged or not, it keeps happening every single time. I have tried repairing them to my device, turning bluetooth off and on, and turning off bluetooth then restarting my phone, still the same thing happens. Does anyone know of a way I can fix this issue?

  • Recording my VHS tapes to MP4, should I use 4:3 or 16:9 resolution?

I am converting all my VHS tapes to MP4 so I have them as digital files.  Just wondering if I should use 16:9 or 4:3.  Someone told me 4:3, but from what I can tell 16:9 looks fine?  Thanks for your advice.  Below are two examples of the same video (one in 4:3 and one in 16:9), which do you think looks better?

  • Am I being watched and/or listened to?

    Hello, Internet.

After two years of unexplainable disappearing items and bizarre coincidences, I may have found evidence that someone is listening/watching my home. Today I downloaded a Bluetooth scanner app to help me find some headphones that curiously vanished, but instead I found a crap ton of unnamed devices and a device labeled “F2”. The three things I’ve been able to find for “F2” are headphones (not the kind that went missing), an RM transmitter, and a field recording device. Could this be evidence that someone has listening/video recording devices in my home?

  • What's something small that can record a short sound and play it back later?

We want to get a couple devices to have around the house that, when we push a button on them, will play a sound that we've recorded on them. It's for training our dogs (they hate the smoke detector low battery noise, so we want to be able to play it when they get barky at people outside our house). I remember having toys that did this when I was younger, but I'm not even sure what to search for on Google to look this up. Suggestions?

  • Bluetooth speakers without annoying voice prompt saying "connection" etc?

Is there any way to turn off the annoying voice prompts on Bluetooth speakers. I just got a new one and this one also has an annoyingly loud woman's voice saying CONNECTION when it first turns on and I hate it. I would rather it only have a sound or be completely silent. Please help in case there is a way to turn this off or if you have any personal recommendations. Looking for a Bluetooth speaker that's preferably waterproof and can stand vertically. I'd like to spend less than $100. Thank you!

  • I don’t know if the coax cord wall outlet is working. How do I go about this with new landlord?

Unfortunately it is late here now. I texted asking about it. And I’m hoping they understood what I meant when I said I’m a full-time student with my own internet which means I need the wall outlet for my coax cord. I’ve tried 2 different coax cords. My internet is in service & modem is working, it’s just not receiving anything from the coax cord.

If they act dumb about not knowing about the wall outlet after I’ve already paid my rent + damage deposit. And on the day I viewed this suite I pointed at the coax cord outlet and said “sweet I can hook up my own internet here for my schooling” and they said “yeah, okay good”

  • MLX90614 3V and ESP8266 WiFi Module?

    Hi, there

Will the MLX90614 3V work with the ESP8266 WiFi Module and micropython? I read the specs on the MLX90614 and I'm not sure if the ESP8266 supports repeatable i2c?

If the electronics will work I can probably figure out the micropython code, unless its not supported?

Is there anyone have ideas of it? Thanks.

  • Can you help me find the best device to cast my Galaxy tab to my TV?

This used to be so easy, now, it's a total pain in the @##.

I would prefer a cable but all the cable/adapters I see are not compatible with Netflix and Amazon Prime.

I had a miracast but it no longer works.  Someone said I can download new drivers but my computer wouldn't even recognize it.

There's a myriad of firesticks, chrome casts, mira scan,  cables but all seem to get poor reviews.

The firestick seems good for direct scanning Netflix and Prime but doesn't seem so good at mirroring a tablet.

I prefer not to overspend but would rather pay more for something reliable rather than something sketchy.  And lagging and poor video audio synchronization drive me batty.

So, without being snarky, can you please help me.
