True progress means matching the world to the vision in our heads. But we always change the vision instead.

I think it means that we'd like to see the world as something entirely different, but then we realize that it could never be, because what ever vision of the world you saw has flaws and holes that someone could discover and fall through.
Sometimes life just doesn't work out the way we wish it did, and there are reasons for that.

But this is only my opinion, someone else could have an entirely different view..

yeah (we) do tend to settle for 2nd best cos the world is much bigger then any one individual so it wont at all, yield easily to your little vision.
