Hi! i have a goldfish tank with 3 gold fish and it is green. ive did the 25 percent water change and it looks green green still what should i do? is it suppose to look like that? or is something wrong? help?
To the people that actually helped
i have a filter and it is on 24/7 and its just kinda dirty water i mean not bad but just doesnt look correct. is it okay for it to look like that or does it require more water change or what. i dont want them to die because of a full water change from what the pet smart people said. they said if i do a full water change it can kill the fish and i have no idea if that is entirely true?

Bag the fish or put them in a bowl while you clean. Don't just do a water change--scrub the inside of the tank to get rid of the algae and scrub your props as well. Also try your best to clean the rocks at the bottom. Clean your filter out really well and put in a new filter cartridge. Fill the tank back up and let it settle and get back to the right temperature. When you're ready to put your fish back in, put them into either a big ziploc bag with the top cut off or the bag they came in and float them in the tank for 30 minutes or so to ease them into any possible temperature change.
Doing a full water change isn't going to kill your fish. Just do it every 4 to 6 weeks with 10% water changes every week in between. If you do a full water change more then that, it can stress them out and give them ick.

stop overfeeding, yes, you are.
turn off the light, it only has to be on when you are looking at the tank, don't leave it on all day
never do a full water change, never.
use a siphon cleaner to clean the gravel when you do your 25% water changes
clean your filter material in dirty tank water, it's better than if you overclean it. .
don't overfeed, algae pellets too.

It is very dirty. What I would do is get a fresh bowl of water, Pour JUST the fish to the fresh bowl of water, Remove the water from the fish tank. fill in new water, If its those machine fish tanks, Sadly I won't know what to do.

It is just algae most likely and the water is brackish. You might need to change the filter though. I recommend highly not to do a complete water change. You will kill your beneficial bacteria. Try and buy some algae killer or buy some snails or shrimp to way it.

im not 100% sure, but that might be just moss growing in the tank. you might need either a filter which is expensive, oe just a magnet fish tank cleaner. they are really good!
