Can congress fire Congressman Wiener or is his employer the prople who live in his district?

A congressman gets his job when the voters in his district elect him. They decide that he is the right man. The people of New York's 8th district selected him. If he is bad they fire him by not voting 4 him in next election. Whether he stays or goes is up to them.

Look I am not saying what he did is OK. The thing is I live in Panama, so its none of my business.

He was hired to represent the people of the 8th district, not to be good role model for kids. I know people who are in the 8th district. They think sending naughty pictures is a cool thing to do. So what Mr. Weiner did was represent them, which is his job.

Have you ever seen that Yahoo member who's username is "Dick Head" and has that little picture of the end of his thingie as his avatar? HE lives in the 8th district!

The only difference between Weiner and the majority of other politicians is that he got caught. It's a flaw of humanity, just ask the church. If his human perversions don't interfere with his job then I could care less what he does with his meatpuppet. Most leaders of men are hypocrites who live by the standard of "do as I say, not as I do". The ones who get most offended are the ones who buy the hype.

    Not a travel question, but....

He could be expelled from the House, after a long hearing and then a vote to expel him. Or, he could be censured [in effect, saying, "Bad boy, don't do that again!]. Even if he were expelled, his constituents could re-elect him.

There is at least one member of the Senate who has actually broken the law [prostitution] and no one has been suggesting that he should step down. Nor have there been any hearings on whether or not he should be expelled.

What Wiener did wasn't illegal, just stupid. But if not being stupid were a requirement for serving in Congress, a lot of the people there now would be out of a job.

The reason he will resign is because he swore up and down to his fellow democrats, his friends and his constituents that it was not him ,he had been hacked and a few other denials. What he did initially while not a crime, did show monumentally poor judgment and/or an incredible amount of arrogance. The denials and lies are what will get him the boot in some form.

Unfortunately, he can not be fired by the people who voted him in that district. Only if he resigns, therefore a special election will be held for his seat.
