How often do you go to the salon? And...?

I have hair down to my knees. I trim my hair 1" a month, and go to the salon 2x a year for 4" trim. About $25 incl. tip. But it usually takes them 1 hour or more, for washing, blow-drying (in layers using a brush which usually takes me 5 mins. at home) then cutting it. After all that, I still have to go back because they can't just cut evenly on the bottom, they have to layer them too! Or after 2 more visits for un-even cut, my dh evenly cuts it at the ends. I'd say for $25 it isn't worth it for me. It's just faster for me to stand on a chair and dh cuts evenly at the tip.

I go about every three months for a cut and highlight to my hair. It is a full highlight with foils. But I don't go to a Salon anymore. The stylist who has been doing my hair for years opened her own salon out of her house so the prices are a lot cheaper. At the salon, my cut and highlight would be around $170, plus the $20 dollar tip, so it would be $190. At her house, I pay $100 and drop her a $15 dollar tip. I tip less only because it is out of her house and she keeps everything. At the salon, she had to give more than half to the owner. So the $115 dollars it costs me goes all to her but I don't mind at all! It saves me 100 bucks!

I SHOULD go, at the very least, once per month. My hair grows twice as fast as the average person's & I have roots to cover! When I'm doing ok financially I go once per month like I should. Lately I've had to go once every 2 months. I go to an academy & see a student. For root touch-up it's 20$ but I have tons of hair so if they have to do an extra mixing, it's $30. Then if I get a trim, too, that's another $11.

I'm an American woman who goes to the salon every 6 weeks. All I get is a shampoo, cut, and style. I never get treatments, coloring, or anything else done to my hair.

once every 2 weeks,to get my ends trimmed.it costs only 5 dollars each time because my salon has a student discount.it's...made my hair free of split ends :)
