I've just been given my German residence permit (good for 9 months) or "Aufenthaltserlaubnis." Does this allow me multiple entries into Germany if I want to head back to the U.S. to visit friends and family during those 9 months?

I am a U.S. citizen in good standing (no criminal record) and I have a bachelors degree from a highly-regarded American university. I recently flew down to San Francisco to apply for a German study visa at the German consulate. I had all of my papers in order, including German insurance and an "invitation" from the German language school in which I've already enrolled. It's the best known language school in Germany.

The clerk at the visa office told me that my application may not get approved, because: (1) I've recently been to Germany on a tourist visa, and (2) learning German isn't absolutely necessary for my professional field. I was absolutely stunned when I heard this. The clerk told me it will take about 2-3 months for my application to get processed and, even then, it could get rejected for these paltry reasons.

My course at the German language school begins in May! What can I do?

I'm thinking of buying both of these rings. They're sort of expensive, but I almost never buy jewelry, because I'm allergic to most kinds of metals (including silver and gold). I was thinking the black ring for everyday use and the clear crystal one for dressier occasions. What do you think?

I recently ordered a Prada vela/saffiano leather trim garment bag from a past luggage line. I bought it via Bluefly.com, who guarantees all of their items are authentic.

I remember hearing in the news how people had returned fake items to Bluefly and Bluefly had accepted them back without spotting that the real item had been switched with a fake item. Then the next person to buy this returned item would receive a fake. Does this still happen a lot? The garment bag I ordered was the last one they had in stock.

What are the chances that my Prada garment bag was a fake item returned by another customer?
