Is GE Goldstar dishwasher okay to use after being idle for 3 years?

For various reasons, my dishwasher has not been used in 3 years. Will the seals still be good? Are there any other potential problems? Some have told me I will need a new dishwasher. Is this true?

We are replacing sink, faucet, disposal (and possibly dishwasher) and adding water filtration system. I am totally inept mechanically and will be having a pro install it all. Any words of wisdom? THANK YOU!!!

Run it with a good quality cleaning tablet, leaks from the outlet are repairable, leaks from under the washer itself are a bad sig, get rid if you see leakage from there, if it survives the test run it should be fine.

Well, it could be fine, or the seal around the pump shaft could leak. No way to know until you run it. I wouldn't be surprised if it did leak.

It will very likely leak as there is nothing harder on a dishwasher than not to be used regularly
