Three confused sleigh dogs are trying to pull a sled across the Alaska snow. One dog pulls east with a Force of 35N. ?

Another dog also pulls east but with a Force of 42 N.The last dog pulls west with a force of 53 N. what is the Net Force on the sled?

    35+42=77N-53N=24N E.

    Forces are vectors, so you'll need to track directions

    Since EAST is greater, let it be positive, West negative.

    + 35N +42N -53N = +24N

    So 24N East

    Net force N = F1+F2-F3 = 35+42-53 = 24 N East
