Using the formula power = current × voltage, find the current drawn by a 1700-W toaster connected to 150 V .?

A) Using the formula power = current × voltage, find the current drawn by a 1700-W toaster connected to 150 V .

B) Then, using the equation current = voltage/resistance, find the resistance of the toaster.

    current I = P/V = 1700/150 = 170/15 = 34/3 of Amps ( ≅ 11.33 )

    resistance R = V/I = 150*3/34 = 225/17 of ohm ( ≅ 13.24 )

    or

    R = V^2/P ) 150^2/1700 = 15^2/17 = 225/17 of ohm

    I = √P/R = √(1700*17/225)  =  √(68*17/9) = (√(68*17))/3 = 34/3 of amps

    1700W = 150*i so i = 1700/150 = 170/15 = 340/30 = 34/3

    R = V/i = 150/(34/3) = 450/34 = 225/17 = 13.24Ω or about 13Ω
