Who is the best promo in wrestling right now?

Could it be Eddie Kingston? He's the one to me that sounds the most like they took him out of pro wrestlings past and dropped him here today..he has little leash, seems like they just tell him some points to hit and he goes...which is a breathe of fresh air from WWE's usual overly scripted out promos. That tends to kill the wrestler's personality.

Jericho has been pretty good, Kevin Owens is always great, heel Roman Reigns I love, Britt Baker has stepped her game up. I would name some of the ROH guys cause their TV has really cleaned up and improved a lot, but most of the stuff we've heard is pre-recorded and haven't really heard many live promos (at least that I'm aware of, I do miss some shows)..ok I'll name Shane Taylor out of them.

But who do you think?

It's been Eddie for over a decade now and no one comes close.  The rest of the world is just picking up on it.  I'm not anti-gimmick in wrestling, but the reason King's stuff is great is because it's him.  He's not playing a character, he's not blowing smoke, he's just simply speaking his mind.  The goal of a promo should be to get someone hyped for an upcoming match encounter, set up a big angle, or talk the crowd into the building.  On a personal level, I can say that Kingston's gotten me to check out a show simply because his gift of gab made it sound like he was in for the fight of his life.  The man got signed because people liked a stock standard King promo prior to his tryout match with AEW against Cody.  Was the match fantastic too? Yeah, but people didn't connect with King and blow up twitter because the guy is the greatest wrestler in the world.  They did it because they liked what they heard.  So that means that Kingston's been able to talk me into a building and himself into a job.  That's something impressive that I don't think anyone else out there is capable of right now.

Eddie Kingston is a great pick. The guy seems to speak from the heart and all his promos feels legit.

Samoa Joe would be another great choice to consider if you also count inactive wrestlers.
