Why are lumber prices so high in the US right now?  ?

150% increase from last year at this time.

    Practically everything has been hiked in price.  I guess merchants are just taking advantage of people.  Their excuse - closed businesses for a while.  Yet, we were still buying online what was needed.

    Demand.  COVID is driving prices up because the demand for single family homes has increased.  Also, Spring is the home buying, home building season.

    More people are doing DIY at home so they’re buying more lumber. When there’s a high demand for something, the price goes up.
