As far as the militant vegetarians, and militant vegans goes, they don't bother me. Even the average vegetarian and vegan doesn't like, or want to be associated with, such types either. Online they display a lot of false bravado, and come off as some tough piece of work. It's those who are the egotistical, arrogant, smug, I know it all, and your experience can be discounted and is not valid, of any use or value, that is more annoying. Especially when it comes from those who are considerably younger. In some ways these are far worse than the loud mouthed militant type. At fifty eight now, by a couple months plus, I SHOULD BE mature enough to walk away from those types.

Now as for myself I'm here to help those I can, with what I've learned. Those that are here, to solely antagonize others, I don't bother with. My time is better spent I feel, on those who are honestly trying to learn. Whether it's regarding diet, or something else I hold either knowledge or have some real life experience with. Those who truly seek information, I'll freely give my time to, even if I'm not fast with the fingers on the keyboard.

But one wonders are they really Vegans, or just in this forum seeking attention, as, maybe the other forums didn't give them the time of day?

Spacemissing, if you would have read a previous answer of mine, I have had a vegan supper, it wasn't bad at all. We, two days a week, specially Monday have meatless days.

It seems, that it is a minority of the alledged vegans that are militant, not all Spacemissing.

Anyone perusing Yahoo Answers in an attempt to actually learn anything is just nuts! Nearly EVERY category here will contain not just incorrect information, but information that can be harmful, or costly if heeded. Also, EVERYONE here is an expert!

Not at all. I enjoy informing them about the serious health risks of veganism. And warning them about the bad dietary information and links that dont say what the poster says they mean that are so common on here.

Not long ago some yoyo posted a link he said proved that animal products are used to coat apples. It said no such thing, of course, but this deluded soul didn't have the literacy to understand simple written sentences. Just think about how many people he misinformed about all sorts of things.

We all know that deep down you Vegans wish you could kill every "hyoomon" that eats meat, while still loving your cats and other animals that not only eat other animals, but do so in such a violent way, that the animal being eaten isn't even dead while parts of its body are ripped apart by teeth. I would be very annoyed by people talking about hunting, or exchanging meat recipes, so guess what? I don't seek out those forums. Problem solved.

There will always be vocal militants, mostly youngsters who refuse to accept they are in a minority. Sensible adult veg[etari]ans must be respected for their personal choice. I realise that a few of these militants will try to monopolise this forum with their rants.

No, I just settle in for dinner with some steak and a bottle of red and forget all about the fringe whack-jobs. Come to think of it, I'm due to make some rabbit ragout this weekend.
