At what age should little children start wearing dangle earrings?

More and more parents are having their chilldrens ears pierced while they are babys or toddlers. How old should little children, both girls and boys, be when they start wearing dangle earrings? How long should the dangles be?

Little kids who have their ears pierced as babies wear little studs; not dangle earrings. Little children should never wear dangle earrings. They are not appropriate for young children at any age. A girl in her late teens could wear them to her high-school prom, but ONLY then.

I can't imagine why a boy would want to wear dangle earrings at any age. Dangle earrings are feminine accessories. A boy would look ridiculous wearing them.

It depends on the situation and the child. Some girls are a little girlier than others and would do well with them. But for girls that play hard they wouldn't be good.

Boys should never wear dangle earrings.

IMHO. Boys should not have their ears pierced at all. My eldest daughter was 3 when hers were pierced, my other daughter is 4 and hasn't shown any interest in it so I'm not gonna do it yet.

My son will not have his ears pierced. If he does it himself they will be removed. (Unless he is at least 18)

My son was four years old when we had his ears pierced because he wanted to wear earrings. The following fall when the Chistmas season started I bought him a pair of small Santa Claus earrings that were dangles on posts. He was fine with those so as a Christmas present I gave him another pair of small dangles on posts. By the time he turned 5 he was wearing dangles and hoops much more than simple stud earrings. If anyone said he looked like a girl because he was wearing earrings he would grin, shake his head so his earrings would move, and tell them he was a boy who could wear earrings as though that were a special priviledge for a boy. He was 10 when he got his first pair of long dangles on wires.

My daughter was 5 when she asked to have her ears pierced but was 7 when she worked up the determination to go through with it. She started wearing small dangles as soon as her ears had been pierced for six months because her brother was wearing dangles.

No earrings on my boys, but I'll answer hypothetically. Old enough to understand not to pull on them. I'm not sure what age this is, maybe 5 or 6? A toddler might not associate pulling at it with pain.

Whenever the parent feels they are suitable. I got my daughters when they were babies. My 4 year old has gold hoops and my 9 month old has diamond studs.
