2.2l ecotec compatible with 2.4l tranny?
I have a 2006 Malibu with the 2.2l ecoTec I4 engine and I'm having some transmission slips so I was wondering if I could replace it with a transmission from a 2.4l eco Tec with 6 speeds, like the equinox tranny that also has overdrive. This should get me better gas mileage too right, I have a 45 minute, one way, highway drive to work. Thanks

I am guessing the computer issues might make this a tough swap. Ask a transmission shop about whether the costs would be worth it. I am guessing the gas saved will never pay for the swap.
