Is $60 per month with unlimited texting and minutes with 2.5gb of data too much money?

I want to get an iPhone 5, but my parents won't let me, They say it's too expensive. But what do you think, $60 per month w/ unlimited texting and calling. (minus the cost for iPhone)

I kinda think it is too much why do you have to get the $60 one when you can get the $35 a month.

I feel it is on the high side when you compare the pre-paid no-contract providers. The key here is unlimited talk, which is where some of the lowest cost providers with data plans cut costs. Virgin Mobile starts at $35/mo, but very limited minutes - even their $45/mo plan has only 1200 minutes. For that price, you can do Straight-Talk and get unlimited talk/text and decent data before they throttle you.

The killer is an iPhone 5. For what they cost, that's insanity. You are paying to be trendy and buying group acceptance, not for superior hardware. With the pre-paid plans, you see the REAL cost of the phone up front. Half the price buys a superior Samsung Galaxy S series phone.
