There were shortages of some weapons and supplies, especially at the start, in 1941. In his memoirs, Khruschev wrote that "the czar had more rifles than we did..." Generally, though, stalinist industrialization had made the soviet forces FAR better equipped than any previous russian military. They vastly outnumbered the Germans in tanks, artillery and had many more troops. That said, the US did send substantial amounts of aid. Among the weapons sent were Sherman tanks and Airocobra aircraft. The most important American aid, however, was probably motor transport, or trucks. That was one area in which the soviets did not produce most of their own.

Actually, the USSR manufactured basically all of its weapons. The USSR had wisely located its weapons manufacturing factories far out of range of German bombers...so the USSR was able to produce tanks and aircraft and other arms at an astonishing rate. The USSR was also very innovative and produced the Kalishnikov rifle and other small arms weapons that argueably gave the Russian soldier an edge over the German soldier. The 'aide' sent to assist the USSR was largely raw supplies such as corregated tine , waterproof communications wiring, and all sorts of such materials. The US did send some trucks and possibly a few tanks but in very small incidental numbers. One of the great myths perpetuated in US history classes is the myth that the USA sent massive aide and weapons to the USSR. What is true is that the USSR did in fact lose over 25million people in its fight against Nazi Germany, and lost more soldiers in the single Battle of Stalingrad than the USA lost in soldiers in both theatres of WW2 combined. In fact, the USSR fought several huge battles, argueably could have won WW2 entirely without any US intervention at all since the USSR bore 90% of the actual combat.

After 41, the soviet union was basically self-sufficient.

The most priced american imports were jeeps, trucks and various military supplies, as well as food supplies.

They did receive numbers of Lee, Grant, Sherman and English Valentine tanks (as well as propably others) but they had ample T34 to cover those needs.

the U.S. had an entire community of spies working for Allied governments for the duration of WW2. Klaus Fuchs, a German born British physicist labored at Los Alamos on the long island undertaking and handed records to the Russians. the yank Communists Ethel and Julius Rosemberg additionally presented atomic bomb intelligence to the Russians for the duration of WW2 (for which they have been accomplished). there have been additionally others.
