Why do I expect so much of human beings?

I feel your frustration, but this is the wrong place to get worked up, because even though it was not designed for that purpose, fools have turned Y!A Politics& Government into a place of trolling, propaganda and stupidity. Of course, a few sub-sections in it are exempt.

People either play or purge here, by and large. There are a few people who attempt to give honest, non-partisan, non-biased answers and they are howled down and blocked. People are strident in their views and aren't here to learn new viewpoints with a view to growth. They're not here to seek knowledge. The serious ones believe that their own rantings are some kind of effective propaganda. That's why trolls have a field day, because it's so easy to ape the fools. What the majority of trolls don't realize is that, by aping the fools, they are really perpetuating the problem.

My answers, if people care to look, will be critical and supportive of both sides, depending on my view. I'm not locked into either side AT ALL. And I don't get upset by being thumbed down or being blocked by the hysterically ignorant. I just answer questions until I get bored and then go away after the election is over. If people rethink something because of an answer I give, great. If not, not. I honestly don't expect that my views on ANYTHING will be taken seriously, because I find the majority of people in this section too laughable to take seriously.

Lower your expectations, share what you know, seek when you need to seek...and do it with an open mind, heart and low pulse.

The most important thing is that you are saying what you believe. YA is a good place to say what you believe, if people like it or not has nothing to do with the person you are. Just because you rant via internet does not mean you are showering them with your pleasant knowledge, also why care? Trust in humankind does not have anything to do with internet arguments. Everybody arrives in the world the same way, looks around to see what's what, and then does the best they can figure out. We are all doing this for the first time.
