Looking at getting new fairings for a motorcycle, what do I want to get?

I got a 2001 Ninja 636 a while ago, and was looking to get new fairings for it, previous owner dropped it, all cosmetic, kind of want to get her looking good again.  I was looking into a site that offered new painted fairings, is this a good idea to do?

Also what are the perks of getting a carbon fibre fairing?  I saw on their site, that an extra 300 bucks, could get that, is it just for looks or performance.  I know my bike's incredibly light compared to others as it is, so not sure how much beneficial it is.

The 636 didn't exist in 2001. It came on late 2002-03' models.

Anyway, carbon is the biggest waste of money. It offers no benefit to anyone besides serious track junkies where pounds become the difference between winning and losing. It's only for looks, and tackey looks at that.

Ad: by matching paint, I assume he means the gas tank as well.

On the street carbon fibre is just for looks.
Thats fine if thats what you want to do.



Its hard to match paint.
You might get lucky,but remember the rest of the  bike has been exposed to sun and oxidation over time.
If its important to you that it match exactly everything has to be painted together.

firstly, they scrape off the entire useless insects and small hairy animals that have a tendency to gather on the ones fairings. then they wax them up and shine vivid lighting on them from the ceiling. Don't be involved approximately it, regardless that, on the grounds that the one guys who journey bikes with fairings are girly guys.
