700r4 identification help?

I have what I believe is a 700r4, it has the physical appearance of a 700r4, but the ID code on it reads 5VK124C, and the Haynes manual for automatic transmissions lists VK as a TH350c, the transmission has the 700r4 tailhousing and I don't see a vacuum port on it. Is it possible that this is just a code Haynes missed or what? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you have a TH350C transmission. It's a 3 speed automatic. The 700R4 is a 4 speed automatic. The TH350C has a lock-up torque convertor. Feel for the number of shifter detents. The 700R4 has 6, the TH350C, 5.
