What's a good low impact work out for beginners?
My mom is getting her hips replaced and we're looking for a good, low impact work out for both of us to do together to help her recover and get back in shape. She is 52, and I am 22. We're trying to find something we can learn, like Tai Chi. Any ideas?

A great low impact workout is swimming.
Swimming, in fact, has no impact on your joints. Not only is it easy on the joints, swimming (when done correctly) is an extremely rigorous exercise believe it or not. Swimming involves almost all major muscle groups in your body but at the same time it is an aerobic exercise.
You get the benefit of healthy joints, low impact, increase muscle mass, and fat loss all in one workout.
Also a healthy diet (fruits, veggies, nuts, and whole grains) will aid the recovery process along with proper exercise.
Hope this helps!

I know that you can do low impact aerobics, my mom used to do that all the time :)
