What career in these science fields would be best to pursue?

I'm 23 and want to attend college, but I'll be paying it myself (plus loans) because I don't have any family or savings to help out. I need to find something that is worth it, and won't sink me into dept and depression like so many others. So, don't tell me "You should just start classes and see what you like"

The fields I'm most interested in are marine biology, quantum physics, astronomy, and entomology. Other than research and teaching, does anyone know of other career paths in any of those fields? And about how much would one in such a field make starting?

Every other subject I've considered just seems boring comparatively, those just completely enthrall me. I'd really like to make a career out of one or more of them, and I'd like to know what my options are.

I probably can't help with the question about the direction you should go, however I can give you some help about how to pay for your education.

Have you considered a community college or technical college? Most of these colleges offer a general credit curriculum that can be transferred over to a major university. For example, there is a local school (near me) that offers a general curriculum of 30-45 hours + for students that want to transfer. It shouldn't take very long, and the best benefit is it is cheaper! And the second best benefit is this: If you have a high GPA upon leaving, you may even qualify for scholarships!

Speaking of scholarships, have you tried looking for one of these? Greatest thing about these is that they don't have to be paid back! I hate soliciting sites on here, but I'll post the link at the "source".

I just wanna say this, even though you didn't ask for this particular advice, I know this can still help ya as it takes a huge burden off your shoulders. In effect, this will make your experience much more enjoyable, and you can definitely focus more on what you wanna do in the meantime.

Source(s): www.scholarships.com <-- free to sign up, it requires a good bit of information to sign up but that's because it automatically sends you updates for scholarships based on several criteria such as sex, age, race, etc.
