Quadratic formula question?

Is the discriminant b(^2)-4ac. Or. b(^2)+(-4ac)?

    In general,

    x - y = x + (-y)

    So, either one is correct. Typically though, you see it presented as the former, not the latter.

    Both are the same both represents b^2 - 4ac

    Both are correct. Minus is the same as plus a negative.
