Make up high school classes online?

I'm currently in 10th grade and would like to retake some classes I took this year. I did not fail these classes but I was lazy and got Cs which I would like to make up and I have the following question/concerns:

1. Can I retake classes I didn't fail to get an A?

2. If I were to retake these classes on my record/transcript would it show that I took the class and got a C and then retook it and got an A or would it just show an A on there?

If it makes a difference I live in California.

    yes, you should ask your counselor about that

    no i do not think so, i think the best grade shows
