Anyone Know of Any Weight Loss Surgery Grants or Programs?

I'd like to enroll a friend of mine into a weight loss surgery (ex. gastric bypass surgery, etc.) program. Maybe someone knows of some things I can enroll them in to try to get them the surgery or at least consideration for something like that? Thanks for your time.

If what you are looking for is to find someone who gives free gastric bypasses because your friend has no insurance, there is nothing out there. If your friend is low income and does not have a lot of assets and her/his doctor thinks the surgery is medically necessary, then she might qualify for state aid health insurance.

You can't enroll someone else unless you are their legal guardian. I am not aware of any grants, but there are plenty of programs out there for people who need government assistance. Unlessy our friend can qualify for that or his/her insurance will cover the cost, I don't think there is anything for you.

Other programs are the weight loss surgical programs themselves, which are not going to pay for the surgery. But since you mention programs I wanted to be sure I answered the question. Centers for Excellence are the best programs for weight loss surgery, as they are industry recognized as leaders in the weight loss surgery field. (I had my surgery through one and the experience was very good.)

I can tell you about the two best weight loss programs : weight watchers, people in this program are invited to meetings whether live or online, providing extra support about the weight loss process.

Another is jenny craig, which relies on strict portion control.
