I'm ASSUMING the answer is "no" BUT is there anything I can do if I was sold 6+ y/o tires?

3 out of the 4 like new tires I bought earlier this year have blown almost resulting in horrible accidents. The individual I purchased the tires from earlier this year said they weren't old (1yr or less) and they did still have the nubs on them. From the end of July through 9/2 I've had 3 tires go on me. One had a tear and the other 2 had the tread just peel off. I know the answer is most likely no BUT is there anything I can do about the tire issues? Thanks

Update:

Well, I bought the tires from an individual, not a business, unfortunately. A business DID install the tires but I had issues with them before where I had to file complaints just a few months ago. Anyone know if I can at least send the remaining tire somewhere to have a replacement? The tires are STARFIRE FLITE-LINE IV - 235/75/15's. Thanks

Update 2:

To the pompous individual below, Starfire is by Cooper. Apparently it's an older line but still by Cooper. I don't own electronic devices aside from a computer but thanks for your pence worth.

If you have proof that they sold you old old stock , Make them refund your money and go somewhere else.

Tell them you'll Report them to the Better Business Bureau if they dont make it right.

you got what you paid for.

    learn your lesson.

Seriously? Have you ever heard of Starfire tires before? that should've been your first warning sign.

Next you'll be complaining about your Panasoniac or a Sory electronics equipment.

I really doubt that anything can be done at this point, very sorry.

FYI-All tires have a date code on the side wall. You can read it on the existing tire and at least know when it was made.

  • i hate to say it but since you bought them from a private party, you are out of luck. buyer beware.
