Which way does the squealer go?
When replacing front brake pads, does it make a difference which way the squealer goes? The car in question is a 95 Caprice. The squealer is on the inner pad. Should it go on the end where the rotor enters the caliper, where it exits the caliper or does it matter.
Thanks Dan. I guess that would be the obvious answer if it weren't for the fact that the old ones didn't have a squealer.

One should, I think, put the squealer so the rotor turns into it; on the leading edge of the caliper.

when you new pads the squealer it already mounted to the pad so when you place the pad on the inner side of the caliper whatever side the squealer mounted on that where it would be. it doesn't matter wheels turn both ways
