Has anyone ever had an event catered by Sonny's BBQ?

Hello! I'm just wondering if anyone has ever had an event catered by Sonny's BBQ. Call me whatever names you like, but I'm thinking of having Sonny's catering at my wedding... it's delicious, and I'm sure it's cheaper than a lot of other catering services!

Obviously I know that some individual restaurants will vary in the service they provide, but just in general, how was your experience?

Did you have to pay gratuity (20%, or what)?

Did a server stay the entire time to set up, serve, and clean up?

What sort of food was there?

How much did it cost per person?

I know that's a lot of questions, but just answer as many as possible. I'm going to call the restaurant later in the week, but I was just curious as to anyone's personal experiences.

Thanks!

Sonny's is awesome! It's definitely not high class or anything, but they have great food and are reasonably priced. My grandparents had a dinner catered for the old folks Sunday School class at their church. They went to Sonny's & picked everything up (food for 40 people). They didn't have it catered though. They did that themselves because Sonny's employees wouldn't dress up. Maybe yours will. The leftovers were really good, too! They had pulled pork, Texas toast, beans (mmm!!!), cole slaw, the gave them several bottles of BBQ sauce (diff flavors), grilled chicken, and maybe one other side.

Oh, and yes, the 20% is fine.

one of my old employers used to have them cater events. i cant answer the financial questions but some of them i can. we had a few people that stayed with the food an served it . we had a variety . bbq an chicken baked beans rolls green beans brownies there was probably more but dont remember. some of the food was kind of messy. this was a few years ago so my memory is a bit fuzzy but it was cool an there was enough variety that everyone was covered. my expectation is that they would have a variety of packages with an without the servers. they also usually will have the tip added automatically to the bill.
