I'm 13 and I want to learn Algebra?

I'm not in the Gifted and Talented (GT) classes at my school so they won't teach me algebra. I want to be a programmer when I grow up and I have to learn algebra and I want to learn NOW. I'm fully motivated. If anyone knows any sites I can learn algebra please tell me. Thanks!

Update:

I want to learn as soon as possible and not wait for high school.

Cool attitude. When you start early, the knowledge sticks better (even if you have to do it over later).

Personally, I think the absolute best way to learn it is to study under someone that teaches math for a living - like auditing a college fundamentals course. Most of the teachers in public education just regurgitate the material, and many of them get flustered because they don't understand it well.

There are also online tutors. Many of these are Indians, and work cheaply. They have easy to use interfaces where you can chat, and use a "chalkboard" and with some, you can use a headset to talk.

Oh, and Barron's Algebra The Easy way is also good.

You'll need very strong skills if you want to master Algebra without help. My suggestion is to go to a used book store and purchase a used textbook. Try doing some of the exercises in it. If they seem to make sense, great! If not...just wait.

By the way, as a programmer....you'll have plenty of time to learn Algebra. The highest requirement for a degree in programming is College Algebra. I'm in college, majoring in computer software design (a fancy way of saying "programming"), and trust me - there is almost no need for advanced math skills. So...you have the next 10 years to learn Algebra. There's really no hurry.

If you want to be a programmer, your time will be better spent studying programming languages, like Java.
