Do "fixed" male cats still get frisky?

We have two "fixed" male cats and for the past several days a female has been "calling" for our boys to come out and play.

They seem to want to answer her calls and have been doing anything they possibly can to sneak out.

My question is do they understand what she wants or are they just concerned about her crying for their attention?

I would have thought they would have no interest but, I am starting to wonder?

Update:

Our guys were neutered at the earliest age the Vet would approve as we don't believe in pet over population.

I guess, on this Q I will need to ask the vet what the exact proceedure was because it seems they are way too interested.

Oh yeah, they can still get frisky. It just doesn't produce results.

On of my old males has begun a hot & heavy affair with one of the cat beds (*snicker*).

In my experience "fixed" does not necessarily mean no interest. My neutered Siamese used to fight the neutered yellow cat two doors down for the spayed calico who lived next door!! All of them were fixed before sexual maturity. Note, this was before I had indoor only cats. During the years I was breeding Abyssinians, I had a neuter who was more than willing to "take care" of any queens who were in heat, but not being bred. Most neutered males don't seem to care at all, but once in a while, they do. I don't know any responsible vets who half-fix (called proud cut in horses, so you get stallion behavior without any benefit, which allows enough testicle to product the hormones without producing sperm) My advice is to keep a water bottle beside the door(s) to discourage escaping. purrs

if u mean desexed i think it depends on the breed

i have a siamese and he is 2 we got him desexed about 14 mths ago and he still sprays everywhere so maybe if ur cats doing that then always have a spray bottle near/at hand

it might sound cruel but its not and it usaully works

mine also tries to creep out so always kno0w where they are before you go out kk

    not really.

the testicles are what produce the male hormone testosterone in most if not all mammals, and testosterone is what is most responsible for the sexual proclivity of a male cat.

however, if the testicles are only snipped but not removed, there might be a possibility of testosterone still being produced.

yes they know what she wants.Just because males get fixed it doesn't stop the hormone running it just stop them being so territorial and spraying and stops them producing sperm.
