Does it take the fulll 11-weeks to process an e-file return when form 8379 is filed with the return?

The IRS states that it takes 11 weeks to process an e-file return with form 8379 is file with the return electronically. It takes up to 14 weeks when by mail.

FROM EXPERIENCED E-FILERS who have previously filed from 8379 with your return, did it actually take 11 weeks or was it quicker?

Sorry, but yes it does take about 11 wks. I think last year it took us about 10 wks. Didn't have to this year, if you have state debt also, make sure you do an injured spouse state form. If you don't know what one just call the revenue department for your state. Good luck

Last year I got mine in eight weeks but it was already delayed by two weeks because of that dumb rebate. My tax person didn't fill it in. I had to keep calling to get decent answers. Some reps don't want to tell you anything but some will tell you exactly when it went to the injured spouse area and everything. Last year I heard people got theirs as early as four weeks. My friend says hers usually takes about 6 weeks. I filed on Jan 19th so I am hoping!

  • i mailed my injured spouse form after filing my return by e-file and it took exactly 2 months to receive my refund check.
