  • KY withholding on a nonresident?

I don't have the best details here as I am asking this for my sister but I'm hoping someone can help out.

My brother in law lives in Ohio and works for Rumpke Recycling (also in Ohio) but has routes in Kentucky.

They have been withholding taxes from him for the past two years. I'm not positive if it's a Kentucky locality or the state that is withholding it, though I believe it's a locality.

My sister said she thinks it says "Local" on the W-2 where they are showing the withholding.

Any how, we were wondering if she would be able to file a return for that and get a refund on it.

They pay Ohio taxes, and local taxes for where they live. This additional amount that is being withheld comes out to about $500 a year which would really help them out.

I know Ky and Oh are reciprocal states but again I think this is a Ky locality that is withholding and not state level.

    Anybody know anything about this?

  • Creative sayings for twins turning 13?

My twin girls turn 13 soon and I want to rent the local town sign. I would like a creative saying about the "twins turning 13" I just can't think of anything.

We live in a suburb with a small school system so basically everyone knows who they are, being they are the only twins in town.

If you all could help come up with something I would greatly appreciate it!

Also if you know of a better area to post this, do tell!

  • I can no longer open PDF attachments in email, what can I do?

My computer is prehistoric and I can't get my husband to understand that I just simply need a new one.

But until he will understand that I still have to work on this computer...

Anyway last week I was trying to delete things I no longer thought I needed. One of those things was Adobe Reader 4. Since I deleted that it wouldn't let me open PDF files anymore. So I opened what I could with Word. This has since converted all my files to word docs. I've gone back in and changed the default to Adobe but all the PDF files in my email won't automatically open.

    I get this message...

This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel.

and all these messages are showing as word docs still.

I tried downloading the most current reader and that failed as well. If I save the attachment then open it, it works fine. But all I need to do is print these files, not save them. Trying not to save anything I don't have to because as it is, I only have 8% memory left- not even enough to defrag. :(

Any ideas what could be wrong or how to fix it?

  • Does this sound like allergies?

    Sore itchy throat

    Itchy nose

Ears feel like they are itchy inside

    Sneezing

    Coughing

Just wondering cause my daughter is getting over the flu, which I've never had and just want to make sure it's not the start of the flu.

I think I am having Ragweed allergies but just wanted to hear from others. I've never been a major allergy sufferer but have had Hay Fever many times.

  • Suggestions for a DIY website?

I need a website for our small business but can't afford the professional fees to have one created for us.

Are there any sites you can recommend that I could make one myself?

I don't know HTML coding so I would probably need something with templates where I can type what I want and just add it to the page. I know going this route I am not going to get top of the line quality and professional results but I need something decent and quickly.

  • Low blood pressure, fast pulse, what's going on?

I had my sister check my BP today which was 108/58, and my pulse was 100 bpm. Lately everynight I go to bed it feels like my heart is pounding hard and fast and it keeps me awake.

I've missed my period by over a week, no I'm not pregnant, 3 negative tests and no pregnancy symptons.

My pulse is high and no it seems my heart is beating faster throughout the day at times and not just at night.

Don't feel like my breathing is right either, kind of shallow and hard to get a good deep breath.

Other than that I feel fine and have always been healthy.

Can this all be caused by stress?

  • Can I use whipped cream (in the can) on "strawberry shortcake" ?

I am not making an actual shortcake, I bought some vanilla poundcake, fresh strawberries and canned whipped cream.

I cooked the berries in some water, sugar and cornstarch to make a sauce. I want to layer it like a trifle, cake, strawberries and sauce, then whipped cream.

SO my question is, Will the whip cream become runny if I layer it?

I don't want to use Cool Whip topping.

    Thanks!

  • Are doctors pushing for C-sections too often/soon?

My last child was born in 2006 but had 2 pregnancies prior to that and three children, twins, single and single. Two of my labors were induced, twins due to baby B not growing anymore and with my last she was way beyond my due date, which was correct. I gave birth naturally each time. So to my question...

Anyway my sister is at the hospital today to have her baby, which she isn't due until 1/23 but the doctor asked her last week about inducing her delivery this week.I just talked to her and she is only 3 cm, (induced at 5 this morning). So obviously she has yet to start pushing or anything but yet the doctor has already asked her about having a C-section. This same thing happened with my other sister, she barely pushed for 15 minutes and the doctor asked her about a C-section because her last baby was 8 lbs and wondered if this one was large as well.

So Do you think doctors are pushing for C-sections too quickly to accomodate their own schedule?

If they can finish a delivery quicker, add the cost of surgery for the C-section, doesn't this benefit them?

BTW- My second sister I mentioned had a smaller baby than her first @ 8 lbs so really there was not a need for her to have c-section done.

It just really seems to me they push patients too quickly into having a c-section when it doesn't really benefit anyone but the doctor unless there is an actual emergency or true need for one.

  • Preparing meals ahead and freezing... Have some questions?

I would like to make some things this weekend to freeze for quicker meals during the week.

I want to make breakfast burritos with scrambled egg, bacon and/or sausage, cheese, and some onions and peppers.

I also want to make a pan of lasagna to freeze.

    SO my questions are

For the breakfast burritos, should I add the cheese to the egg during cooking, or when I am putting them together to freeze them?

I am thinking after when I am putting them together but have never made them before. Any other tips/advice would be nice as well, I have never done this and need to make sure I have a variety of quick breakfast items for my kids on schooldays.

    For the lasagna-

I always make my lasagna the "no boil" way but with regular noodles, not the no boil ones. I just add a little water to my sauce and they cook during baking. So should I cook them since I am planning on freezing it or just layer as I normally do and freeze with the hard uncooked noodles in? Any other tips or advice is welcome!

    Thanks ahead!

Oh and any other meals that you have had success with freezing ahead would be fine to add!

  • Pulsating throb in bottom of foot?

Yesterday I woke up to a weird pulsating throb on the sole of my left foot. It doesn't hurt, but feels like what your blood sounds like circulating, if that makes sense.

It felt like it was moving up the inner part of my calf.

Does anyone know what this could be?

I am planning on calling a doctor tomorrow to get it checked but wanted to see if anyone might know more about this.

For a little history- my last job I had to stand and walk all the time but now I have a sit down desk job. I would frequently get leg pain at my other job. I have varicose/spider veins, smoker, on birth control. Sometimes I feel like an electric jolt in my leg, usually while sitting at the dinner table.

  • Log sheets for off duty days?

My husband and a driver are going at it (and driving me nuts) about exactly how a log sheet has to be filled out for off duty days.

On off duty days, did you need to recap the hours?

My husband says you still need to show your hours, even on off duty days on the recap.

One of our drivers says during an inspection he was told he didn't have to do it.

I've looked it up on the FMCSA and there is no specific info on off duty days so I am having trouble finding info and thought maybe someone that has been through this would be able to help.

So, do you have to recap your hours on off duty days?

  • I need a substitute for dry white wine?

    I am making this recipe...

    http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Chicken-Cordon-Bleu-I...

I made it before but don't remember what I used. I am not a wine drinker and they say you should use a wine you like the taste of so this doesn't help in my situation.

I know you can usually sub chicken stock but it already calls for chicken granules and didn't know if that would be too much.

    Any ideas?

  • CD Player is not spinning correctly? What's wrong...?

It says reading disc, spins one way, stops then spins the other way and says error. It is one of those slim wall mount ones that are inserted vertically opposed to horizontally. These are not downloaded music cd's either, store bought ones so I don't think it is the cd, especially since none will work in it.

Something I can fix, worth it to get it fixed or just buy a new one?

  • Tingling and swollen lip, what could it be?

My husband's top lip has swollen for no apparent reason 3 times in the past three weeks.

I thought maybe an allergic reaction to something he ate but I am not sure.

The first time it happened he had just eaten beef jerky.

The second time was a garlic roll.

    This time Beef Stir Fry.

Each time it happens he can tell it is coming. It starts to tingle and then swells up like a fish.

The first time it went away after a couple hours. The second time it was like that for almost 24 hours.

Now this is the third time and it's only been about an hour so I don't know how long it is going to last.

Anyone know what it could be, just food allergy?

Oh and no I didn't punch him in the mouth, lol!
