What is your fitness level?

What kinds of cardiovascular activities do you do?

How have your fitness, diet, and physical activity changed over the years?

Are you more fit and/or active now than you were 5, 10, 15 etc. years ago?

This is for a project and any answers would be greatly appreciated. Please answer only if you are an adult! Thanks in advance.

I'll answer the years ago question first. 13 years ago, I had my last baby and had gained a lot of weight. Over the next 10 years, I put on even more weight till I was 40 per cent body fat and had trouble getting up and down stairs. I decided I didn't want to become diabetic like so many of my friends, so I went on a healthy diet (all the food groups) and exercised. Started out on a recumbent bike, then switched to an elliptical trainer. Now I do spin. I started to do Spin (biking with a teacher) after I'd lost about 40 pounds. Since I am in my 40s I have bad knees, ankles, feet. etc...even though I am thin now, I still have joint problems. Spinning is the easiest on my joints, plus it's a great workout. I walk out of there soaking wet with sweat and feeling like I've done myself some good. I do Spin 3 x a week, and on the alternate days, I do strength training. I like "Sculpt" class, but if I can't get to a a class, I will do some weight machines or just do some resistance training on my own at home.

So, back to my weight loss story. It took my 9 months, but I lost 90 pounds in 2006. I have kept it off because I still eat basically the same way I did while losing, with just a tad more leeway (probably 300 to 400 more calories per day than I was eating when I was losing weight). I eat lots and lots of veggies and fruit, a little lean protein, whole grain carbs, skim milk and fat free yogurt, and water. And I never gave up coffee...because it doesn't have calories and, darn it, I LIKE COFFEE :)

I feel terrific!! I have lots of energy and I exercise every day (almost). I went from 40 percent body fat to 19.8, last time I checked. Pretty good for a 40 year old (ahem plus...) lady! :)

I do walk away the pounds with weights for my cardio. I have gained some weight compared to a couple of years ago, but I am taking it off again. I used to work out at the gym, but I found it is easier to work out at home and cheaper. My fitness level has increased since I have begun to lose weight. I used to be in the biking club and play tennis. I would say I'm not as fit as I was 5 years ago and before, but I am working on it.

I do cycling, running and interval training. Of course with regular exercises, you're able to maintain fitness and stamina even when your age progresses.

If you were to climb a few flight of stairs and it leaves you winded, you probably have to improve your cardiovascular health with routine exercises.

This 2 simple test can gauge your cardiovascular health level:

    Test 1:

    * Taking a deep breath and timed how long you can hold on your breath.

    * If it is more than 45 sec, your lungs are working efficiently.

    Test 2:

    * Next, check on your resting heart rate.

    * Taking your pulse in the morning, once you get out of bed.

    * Counting for a full min, if not, count for 30 sec and mutiply by 2.

    * Average rate is about 60 to 80 beats per min for women.

    * For men, it’s about 60 to 75 beats per min.

Get as greater healthful as you achievable can, yet continually comprehend one element, no count how greater healthful or mentally stable you're, you would be broken and you'd be broken rather too. putting this into attitude on the Jungle section ninety% of human beings fail it. So out of the let's imagine one hundred fifty that make it to decision, the 50 that drop out in section one by using the top of section 2 there is only 10 human beings left who nevertheless have yet another section and nevertheless have there "commerce coaching" after that to do. purely the very few ever make it.
