what is this classical song? it's from an old commercial.?
ok so does anyone remember that commerical (it might even have been on more recently...i don't know) where there was a guy and a girl and all you could see were their shadows on the wall? he gives her a piece of jewelry and you can see the jewelry but you can only see the people's sillouettes on the wall. well anyway, there's a classical song playing in the background. does anyone know what it is?
i think it's a commercial for Zales jewelry but i'm not sure.
sorry if i didn't describe it too well. i'm not very good at that.

... Jenkins is a contemporary Welsh composer.

Go to You Tube, type in as a key word DeBeers and add, if you wish, the key word, commercials. The videos of the DeBeer Commercials will pop up in a list for you, Watch the different ones until you find the one you're asking about. The video should give credit to the background music.
If it doesn't give credit to the music, then you can copy and paste the direct link back to your question, or to a new question, so that we can hear the video and offer our replies.
(P.S. I never pay attention to commercials and hardly remember them but one of the DeBeers Commercials did stick in my mind because it used the Palladio Allegro by a little known composer named Karl Jenkins. I was impressed enough with this music I hadn't heard before that I ended up checking him out and becoming a big fan of his work. And this may very well be the piece you're asking about because it has become quite popular.)

The music is by Karl Jenkins and is from his composition called "Palladio". The De Beers Diamond Company used it for their innovative jewelry ads in the mid 90s. It's actually in three movements totally about 16 plus minutes in length. There are other tracks on the CD. It's worth purchasing and you can get it from both Amazon and iTUNES.

The old couple/young couple Zales commercial is a piece actually taken from De Beers and it is called Palladio by Karl Jenkins and is recently written music. I think it is in an album called diamond music? The piano music and girl singer on more recent commercials is A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton. It kinda has a Magnificent 7 sound alike going in it! ~you are welcome~

The commercial is for DeBeers (a diamond mining company). They change it every once in a while, like around Christmastime, so there are several songs you could be talking about. Do a Google Search for "debeers commercial music" - a few of the songs are named in the results.

I think the commercial was fro De Beers and the piece was Palladio by Karl Jenkins.

There are 2 answers for the "Jewelry Commercial Song" as far as I know:
1) Vivaldi - Winter, from "The Four Seasons"
2) Boccerini - Menuet from "String Quintet in E"
Many know the entire Vivaldi work, but Boccerini is one of the classical world "one hit wonders" - wrote a ton of music but today only this movement of one work is widely known.
