I need to know the xbar symbol to type into excel. This is the symbol x with the bar over it, also known as the mean of x.

There is not an Alt code for it that I could find but you should be able to copy and paste the image off this website and clean it up nicely.

Step 1: Insert -> Equation (new equation) -> Design -> Accent -> choose Overbar (3rd row, 2nd column, in pop-up selection). Equation object will appear on the sheet.
Step 2: Click on the dotted box in the equation object (below the overbar), and press letter "x".
Step 3: Move the equation to where you want it.

Go to INSERT - SYMBOL - Font = MS Reference Sans Serif - Subset = Private Use Area - Character Code = F7C3 - From Unicode (hex).
