Can you give me some songs and/or scripture verses that help you keep your faith in hard times?

These are the songs I have come up with so far:

Let it Fade--Jeremy Camp

Walk by Faith--Jeremy Camp

Held--Natalie Grant

Miles and Miles Away--David Phelps

Praise you in This Storm--Casting Crowns

You Never Let Go--Matt Redman

As far as verses I already known of Romans 8:28 (For we know that all things work...etc.) which is one of the most well known verses in the Bible...but I can't think of any others off the top of my head.

any other songs or verses would be most helpful. The sooner the better. I'd like to make this CD and write out these verses by the end of the day. This is for a friend of mine who is really dealing with a huge struggle right now and she's finding it very difficult to have any faith. i thought this might encourage her a little. thanks in advance for the help!

My favorite hymn to help me keep my faith is this one:

    Lead, Kindly Light

    The first sentence is:

Lead, Kindly Light, amid th' encircling gloom.

The verses say: Psalm 43:3 and Psalm 119: 133-35

You can listen to it at the first link in the bottom.

Another one I LOVE is Cast Thy Burden upon the Lord, which goes:

Cast Thy Burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee.

Verses: Psalm 55:22 and Psalm 25:3

You can listen to it at link two.

Some other hymns I think of or listen to when I am having struggles are: Does the Journey Seem Long?, Where Can I Turn For Peace, As The Shadows Fall, As The Dew From Heaven Distilling, When Faith Endures, Through Deepening Trials, Ye Simple Souls Who Stray, Rock of Ages, Master' the Tempest is Raging, Jesus' Savior' Pilot Me, I Need Thee Every Hour, Dearest Children' God Is Near Your, and True to the Faith.

You can download the music for free at link three. The music player is at four. I get all of my hymns from LDS.org website, but I double checked to make sure all of the songs held no trace of Mormonism.

I truly hope you reach out to your friend. Sorry that these are all hymns, but I find hymns most comforting when I'm having troubles.

You wanna know something? I'm sorry for the rude comments that other people make, (for they knoiw not what they do, please forgive them) The funny thing is that as soon as I read your question, the first thing that came into my head were 2 songs, and one of them was "Walk By Faith" All of his songs are so encourgaing in those troubled times. The other one was "Audience Of One" Big Daddy Weave, and to me that shows that we are living for nobody except for God, so we are not to try to please everyone, just God and God alone. I'm praying for your friend and hope that she'll get through this storm and hopefully realize God is on her side! She sounds lucky to have a friend like you trying to help her thorugh this!

Trials and tribulations come with both a purpose and a reward. "Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." "Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love Him" (James 1:2-4,12).

    Here's a couple

God is not unrighteous so as to forget your work and the love you showed for his name.”—HEBREWS 6:10.

he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but along with the temptation he will also make the way out in order for you to be able to endure it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13)

However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)

When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property. (Exodus 21:20-21 NAB)

"If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives." (Leviticus 20:13 NAB)

Whoever sacrifices to any god, except the Lord alone, shall be doomed. (Exodus 22:19 NAB)

But if this charge is true (that she wasn't a virgin on her wedding night), and evidence of the girls virginity is not found, they shall bring the girl to the entrance of her fathers house and there her townsman shall stone her to death, because she committed a crime against Israel by her unchasteness in her father's house. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst. (Deuteronomy 22:20-21 NAB)

Just some of my favorites, I have many others!
