Do You Ever Feel Like Something is Missing--Or A Deep Feeling of Loss?

Do you ever feel that something Huge is missing from your life--something Core and Deep....

For example:

Like Maybe you were a Twin and your twin died?

Like You must be an Adopted Person and No One is Telling You?

Just wondering?

Update:

Hannah B-- Don't feel like a weirdo... I do have a reason for asking this question.... I am an adoptive mommy and I have found that so many adult adoptees express a core feeling of loss and point to the adoption as the only reason for feeling that loss...

Yet as a child and even to this day I have felt something "missing" I had read that there was a theroy Left handed people actually absorbed their mirrior right-handed twin so I clung to that feeling for years... as a way to explain a core feeling of loss in me.

My theory is that many of us do have this feeling and for many reasons... and that it is one part of human nature some of us have--valid or not.

God and faith are the reasons I don't live in such a feeling--and my hope is to understand why and how some people feel this...even if they have not Real Reason...

*** oh, and yes Child Abuse does Not Help--I believe many of us who WERE abused children have this feeling... so... that may be part of it.

Sometimes I do feel like there is an empty void in my heart that can only be filled with the love of my soulmate or something.

I often feel like everybody else is happier than me. Other people have figured out the secret to happiness but I am still searching. Or that there is *one thing* out there that if I get it, I would be happy from then on -- but I can't figure out what it is.

It just leaves me feeling on the edge and unfinished -- is that what you mean?

Yes.. not to sound like a weirdo but you should look into religion and become close with God and this may fill the gap you are feeling.. :)
