Dogs Anal glands?

I have a dog than keeps having probs, her glands. We have to keep taking her to the vets periodicaly to have them drained.

The vet says to change her diet, which we have, a few times, but no improvment. Has any one else experienced this prob:

We talked to the vet about this because we have to take my JRT in about every two weeks to have her glands expressed. They said that it could be due to her diet, if they are even a little bit over weight that could be causing it to happen more and also smaller dogs are more likely to need to have it done. If it becomes a big problem then you could talk to your vet about having the anal glands removed but that is mostly done as a last resort and most of the time only when they become infected.

I have the same problem with my 1 year old min poodle! I have switched food too. Also everytime I give him a bath I externaly extract it . Just squeeze on both sides of the anus and it will come out! Gross huh? But it works and saves the furniture!

yes and she ended up having surgery to remove hers

you can have them cut out through surgery, but my grandparents had that problem and they eventually had to put her down.
