Why does Dublin look like so run down? ?

Don't get me wrong, every city in the world has its good and bad but for a first world nation, Dublin is appauling.

I've been to London, New York, Paris, Berlin and they don't have the visible problems of homelessness and drug use that Dublin has in it's CBD.

The police in these cities at least keep the tourist areas looking good. Meanwhile on O'Connell Street, you'll have people drunk out of their minds drinking Dutch Gold during the afternoon. You can see many homeless people sleeping on cardboard boxes or tents throughout. Even when going to Phoenix Park. Don't think I've seen so many rough sleepers in any other city.

Even my German and American friends who visit here claim that the countryside is beautiful but Dublin overall sucks.

I need tips on where to stay in Dublin?

Hi, I am going to Dublin for the first time, but will stay there for only one entire day.

I will arrive in the Dublin airport at 10:50 pm and leave at 8:50 am in the morning of the day after next. So I have two nights to stay, but where would you stay with this tight schedule? I thought it might be good to sleep in the airport for the first night.. is it doable to do overnight at the Dublin airport?

How should I dress in Ireland?

I'm going to Dublin in the beginning of October. We're going to a concert and doing general sightseeing, pub crawling. I don't want to stick out like a sore thumb. Jeans? Leggins? (cute leggins with cute long shirt, not athleisure wear) What about shoes? I need comfort for lots of walking. Should I bring my rain boots? Rain jacket? I keep hearing women wear black tights, that seems silly with rain boots.

Do you experience jealousy or prejudice from people from other parts of your country?

I'm from Dublin, it seems to be a trigger word for certain people from other parts of Ireland, which i find completely hilarious...how can you dislike someone who you have never met or known previously?, of all the assholes that are alive and living right now, they dislike people from Dublin, my county...Well tough **** lads, suck it up, we're great people, some of the funniest Irish people are from or came from Dublin, some of the most eccentric characters in Irish history came from Dublin -- i never hear anyone from Dublin giving out about people from another part of Ireland, ever. Now, i'm not saying i like everyone in Dublin either, in fact i cant stand a lot of people in Dublin, but that's life, you're never going to like everyone, but this whole irrational dislike of someone because they come from somewhere thing is really ******* stupid, i mean we might have most of the concerts and infrastructure, but i live in north Dublin, the government couldn't give a **** about where i come from...You should never look down on people from your own country like that, that's not cool, and its completely stupid. I'm aware that people from London get that kind of thing, and people from Paris.

I have a 3 hour layover in Dublin my final destination is in Newcastle do I have to go through customs in Dublin?

    Favourite answer:

The UK and Ireland are in a "common travel area" so you probably have to go through passport control at DUB before you board the flight to the UK. Three hours between flights is plenty of time.

How does Princess Meghan get along with Harry's dad.?

    Favourite answer:

Very well, though it must be hard to keep it all so secretive. Perhaps the day will come when they can be open about it.

Hello, I am visiting UK and connecting in Dublin but have a simple assault conviction which was about 5 years ago?

    Favourite answer:

Try this page for the transit info: http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/check-irish-v...

If any border control person asks about a criminal history, it's downright foolish not to tell them. If they find out anyway, and they might, you have added lying to the mix. Not a good thing.

I am not computer-savvy enough to make links work to the pages I found, but put this in your search bar and you should get a UK government site that answers your question about admissibility after a conviction: uk gov immigration rules appendix V

When you get there, click on the little arrow on the right to expand 'immigration rules for visitors', and the scroll down to Part V 3.4
