  • School banned my IP. How can I still use my router?

Apparently the university I go to banned the IP that my room is connected to because I was using a router instead of their horrible Wi-fi.

Is there a way to get around this so that I can still use a router? If not, then I wasted $100.

  • Is it legal for a convenience store to make customers give them their bags upon entry?

Today, I went to a convenience store with a group of friends. There was a sign at the counter that told customers to give the cashier their bags. The cashier even told us that we can't browse unless we give them our bags.

I understand that they think people are going to steal stuff, but is this even legal? I don't trust them to watch my stuff. Plus, if I drop my bag, anyone can walk off with it.

    Is this legal?

  • If the NHL was a movie, who would be the protagonist?

If the NHL was a movie, who (what team) would you pick as the protagonist? Who would you pick as the antagonist?

i.e. What team can we all get behind, and what team do we all want to lose?

    ---

For me, I love my Penguins, but I think they might be the antagonist. Protagonist might be the Blackhawks? What do you think?

  • Girlfriend is being very distant. I wonder, "Does she even care at all?"?

I genuinely believe that she doesn't love me.

    But-- I love her.

[SKIP to end if you aren't interested in backstory.]

    ---

She won't talk to me when she is with other people. Just today, she returned from a two week trip with friends and during that time, we had barely made an effort to communicate with me.

She's not interested in what I'm doing anymore. Despite assuring me that she feels the same, he can't actually tell me that she loves me.

    ---

Long story short, I'm tired of putting so much of my time and and emotions into something that she doesn't even care about.

Should I just end it? Or should I talk to her and try to understand everything. I really love her.

  • LDR: Unequal Proportions of Care?

I'm in a long distance relationship and I love her so much, but I just don't feel that she cares anymore. Should I just forget about it?

  • Why do people care about politics?

People get so bent out of shape whenever they talk about politics. It's exactly the same with any sports fan.

Don't we just get mad because we identify ourselves with one side and want our side to win? We have zero control over what happens and our input does not matter. So why do we even think about it?

  • Is the NHL All-Star Game a joke?

Just looking at the list of players who made it and it looks like they left out a massive amount of skilled hockey players. Some questionable picks as well.

Also, has the fan-vote ruined the integrity of the All-Star Game?

  • Still feelings for first love? Still no closure?

If someone could give me advice, I would be incredibly grateful.

Right now, I am in love with this girl. I've been in love with her for over two years and she's made it clear that loves me as well. But, she can't find the courage to leave her boyfriend.

In high school, there was a girl that I used to like. We were great friends. But one day we got in a fight and we completely stopped talking to each other for the last 2 months of our senior year in high school.

Every time I come home, I think about that girl that I fought with. I've tried to make amends on social media, but to no avail.

It's like there's something pulling me back to that memory of her walking away from me. The thing is, I don't think that I even like her any more. It's just that I desperately want to hear her voice again.

Is it really possible that I might still feel something towards that person? Or is it just me not getting closure? She was the first girl I've ever loved.

It's weird for me because right now I know that I'm in love with that first girl I mentioned. But maybe I'm getting tired of the games..

    Any advice would be appreciated!

  • Water falling on dancer/ exercising girl meme?

What's that famous scene where an exercising woman bends her head back at the end of her dance, pauses, and a bunch of water spills on her head?

  • Why is it so hard to find a mainstream song with decent lyrics?

Every mainstream song always stresses repetition and words like:

Tonight, baby, throw your hands in the air, drink

In most of these songs, the lyrics don't even mean anything and it's broken English.

Do we really not care what the lyrics are as long as the rest sounds good?

  • What will the Penguins 2014 lineup look like?

Because the Penguins made so many changes, what do you think their lines will look like?

    I'm thinking:

    L1: Bennett, Crosby, Dupuis

    L2: Kunitz, Malkin, Hornqvist

    L3: Comeau, Sutter, Spaling

    L4: Pyatt, Goc, Adams

    D1: Letang, Martin

    D2: Ehrhoff, Maata

    D3: Bortuzzo, Despres

    G1: Fleury

    G2: Greiss

    ----

I think the Penguins 3rd line is undoubtedly a lot better than it has been in the past (if they resign Sutter). The 4th line is a little weak, though. I don't think that Kapanen will play much next season because rookies usually don't.

Not that they need him, but if the Penguins could somehow pick up Dustin Penner... this team would be loaded.

    What do you think?

  • So, my puppy keeps stealing my ipad.......?

My puppy is addicted to the apps on my ipad. She doesn't even know how to use them but she steals the ipad whenever I use it, takes it to the other room, and tries to play it. She's not even good at it.

How can I break her of this addiction?

  • Girls, would you be willing to have a paint ball fight?

For a date, do you think a girl would like to play paint ball?

I know it's not exactly girly.. but does pelting your significant other with hard paint balls sound like a good time?

Or maybe we should be on the same team and whenever she is about to get hit, I could jump in front of her to take the paintball and make it all dramatic by acting like I just got shot by a real gun. Saying something like, "I love you" and then pretending to die for a few seconds.

Is that just a stupid idea?

  • Can race be invisible?

I've heard both arguments for this one -- why invisibility within race does or does not exist. But I am interested in your opinions. What do you think?

For me, I undoubtedly believe that race can be invisible if a child is raced in a certain environment.

I am an average 21 year old white male coming from a middle class family. Whenever I was in school at age 5, I had gotten my first crush on a black girl in my class. I just thought she was cute. At that time, I didn't think about why she looked any different than I did. Truthfully, I didn't even think about what gender she was. All I saw was a person my age who was extremely kind to me and we had fun playing together.

Fast forward to age 11, I played baseball and we had two black kids on an all white team. Again, I was great friends with them, but this is whenever I really began to notice racism.

Around this time, I also began hanging out with a few Asian-American friends. And again, I witnessed racism whenever I was around them.

So there I was as a little kid wondering why these people I was friends with were being bullied for something like their skin color, whenever I wasn't.

I was recently in a relationship with a Chinese girl at my university. Of course, I have also dated within my own race, but I don't see race as a boundary for liking someone.

I do think that 'white privilege' is real. However, I also do think that to some people, race can be invisible - especially for children.

  • Do you think that having a black President has helped to deter racism?

This is a serious question. Yahoo A. is super strict about removing questions like this for some reason, but here it goes.

    ---

Do you think that having a black President has generated more racism in the USA, or has it helped to slightly abolish it?

    ---

Personally, I see it both ways. I see people who are pointing the finger at him and associating it with race, while others who are becoming more relaxed with multiple races coexisting in one nation.
