  • Autism and indigo or crystal children? Numerology?

When my son was about 7 months old we went to a "psychic party" and I was very eager to not only get insight on my son but also my recently deceased father. Apparently way more people than expected came to this party and the psychic was exhausted and I feel that we got a bogus reading. She took my keys from me and told me that I was stressed... but duh!!! I work full time and have a 7 month-old at home so of course I am stressed! But this woman told me that my son was an indigo child after only asking me what his birthday was. With research I found that there aren't really any indigo children after 2000 and those born after wards are considered "crystal children." Crystal children are supposed to be exceptionally sensitive of their surroundings and even telepathic, and they may not talk until they are 3 or 4. I think this is all bogus and my only interest in it comes from an autism book that I read recently that connects autistic and indigo/crystal children. My son is now 3 years old, autistic, and seems completely disassociated with his surroundings... I think this psychic was a total fake and I'm still curious as to how she determined him being an "indigo" by his birthday. For any of you Numerologist out there wondering, his DOB is 7/15/06. Any insight?

  • Autism and a gastrointestinal disorder?

My son is on the sever spectum of Autism (ASD) and has diarrhea nearly every day. I've done research about the connection between these symptoms and ASD of which there is a great deal of research that has been done to support a connection between GI disorders and Autism. Some symptoms of a GI disorder include stunted growth, a bloated belly, and irregular bowel movements. My son has displayed all of these symptoms over time and I have decided to alter his diet to GFCF compliance (gluten free and casein free). It is ironic that since this change he has grown three inches and gained nearly seven pounds in three month period..

  • PID after a pediatric eye exam?

My son will be entering preschool next week and a requirement is that he have an eye exam... I guess to make sure that any learning disabilities aren't due to his vision. On the eye examination for school entry from that they filled out it reported in his case history section where it gives medical history it lists ADHD (already diagnosed), PDD (already diagnosed), bi-polar disorder (which his father has), and PID... what in the world is PID?!? I've googled and googled and can not find anything relevant to my son. Does anyone have any idea what PID is?

  • Is it my blood type? Is it hormones? Ist it our sweat?

When my mother died and her funeral was held four years ago (around this same time of year) I was attacked by horse flies at the wake and bitten 72 times (mind you that I was an only child and attacked by horse flys at my mother's funeral), one other person was bitten once... apparently bugs love me. Four months after my mother died I was pregnant with my son who just turned three this past July. Most recently I was a bride's maid in my cousin's wedding whereby I was attacked by a housefly repeatedly that left everyone else alone. When I got home that evening my son had 29 bug bites (counted as I put calamine lotion on each) while he was staying at a relative's house that lived out in the country, by the way they do look just like the horse fly bites that I remember from that horrible day. Why us? Why flies? Is it our blood type? Our hormones? Our sweat (in August)? Why do flies love us?

  • My son chews on the inside of his cheek...?

My son obviously has some special needs... although at this point he's only been diagnosed with a "developmental delay" being that we've been on an 8 month waiting list for him to be tested for autism. He has alot of sensory issues and in the past couple of months he's been biting the inside of his cheek. It will bleed and bleed and he will still continue to chew, it's quite disturbing. His doctor says that seeking stimulation like this is normal for children with "mental problems" and to do the best I can to distract him with redirection. As if autism hasn't terrified me enough up to this point, now I'm under the impression that my son is psychotic! Please, does anyone have comforting stories to tell me of a child who has gone through the same phase?

  • What can I expect out of a Tonsillectomy for my 2 year-old?

My son's tonsils have been swollen for nearly three months now and only recently has his doctor considered a tonsillectomy... considering that they are still swollen a week from now. My mother-in-law (a nurse) has terrified me with the idea that he might die during surgery but I feel like he's suffered long enough! How dangerous is it for a 2 year old to have their tonsils removed?

  • My son is austistic and was recently kicked out of his play group...?

We were kicked out because we couldn't attend enough per monthly activities, but my son is in several interventional services (physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and developmental intervention) that take up most of his time. To me this sounds like a direct violation of the Americans with Disibilities Act of 1990, what do you think?
