Isn't it funny how leftists are suddenly pro-business when it comes to censorship?
They are usually all for the working class but when it comes to censorship they say "they are a private company they can do what they want" of course this isn't really true it's more that they can do whatever they want because they are too powerful and hard to regulate not because what they are doing is fully legal as it is not. Yahoo answers shutting down is the latest in tech company censorship and their never ending pursuit to put a strangle hold on public discourse online of course no one really cares anymore because all this immoral and likely illegal censorship has become old news. I saw a study not long ago that was at the time the latest thing the media was getting offended at that showed that most Republicans think Democrats are bad people who want to destroy this country. I'm not going to sit here and say that all Democrats and leftists are themselves evil people but I will say that the fact that they consistently support evil and evil policies such as internet censorship makes it not very surprising to me that Republicans think they are all bad people.

3 AnswersGreen Living4 weeks agoWhy do english translations of japanese songs (anime intros in particular) always seem to translate into nonsense?
Every anime I have ever watched the lyrics sound nonsensical. I can understand it fine as it is english but it doesn't actually seem to be saying much and what it is saying is phrased in a odd way. Are Japanese songs intentionally weird or is it a issue with the translation? I know a lot of languages don't translate well into english is it something to do with the grammatical differences between the two languages?
2 AnswersLanguages1 month agoAssuming the philosophical theory of perceived reality is true it still leaves a question unanswered which is "so what"?
A while ago some of my family members were going through a phase of talking about some stupid theory of perceived reality and how nothing is really real. I always hated it when they talked about for one I personally think it's wrong and I also think it's dangerous and encourages a nihilistic world view. Even if it is true it's still dangerous I mean if true things can't be dangerous we wouldn't be shutting down certain political views now would we? Outside of it being dangerous I think the theory is also a negative claim fallacy. There's also the question that if this world is completely perceived and not real then why do are actions have actual consequences unlike a dream world which is actually not real? And why is it that multiple people can perceive the same thing like why is it that everyone who passes by a building can see that building if it's not real? Then here's the biggest question. So what? Even if this world isn't real if you are in jail it doesn't change the fact your in jail if you're poor it doesn't change the fact that you're poor even if this world isn't real and purely perceived that "fact" is useless and doesn't change anything.
1 AnswerPhilosophy2 months agoWould a device that could allow you to safely fall from extreme heights without any kind of way to slow your fall be physically possible?
In the video game halo there was a special forces troop that would deploy from right above a planets atmosphere and fall to the ground like a comet and would climb out of their pod and the crater it left completely unharmed and ready to fight. In iron man there's multiple times where he lost control and fell from great heights just to get up completely unscathed (though in iron man I think there was a limit to how high he could fall from). Those are a couple examples and I seen similar things depicted in other media that I can't name right now. I was thinking about it and I was wondering if in the future such technology could be invented or is it impossible and such a thing goes against the laws of physics?
4 AnswersPhysics3 months agoHow dangerous are adrenaline shots could someone actually use it to boost their strength in a fight they'd otherwise lose?
When I first saw this comedy-action movie about these kids who wanted to be super heroes years ago I remember there was this girl who kept a adrenaline shot on her as a last resort. At the end of the movie she was fighting this muscular woman she had pretty much no chance of defeating and she took her adrenaline shot out and made a half assed attempt to stab the woman with it hoping that she'd think it was poison. The woman fell for it took it from her and then stabbed her with it the adrenaline then went through her body and allowed her to overpower the woman and kill her. I thought it was a cool idea and seemed like something that could work at least in theory but I'm sure there's a reason why I never heard of someone doing something like that in real life. Would this not actually work? Do adrenaline shots not actually work the way natural adrenaline works? Would it be to dangerous? This all assumes that adrenaline shots would be readily available to the person planning on using it of course.
1 AnswerMovies3 months agoHas a name ever been given to this "impossible" emotion we can only feel in our dreams?
Our unconscious brains are very powerful and making us feel something we never felt before is within it's capabilities. Although everyone might feel it differently I'm sure everyone has felt it before. It's rare I've only felt it a few times in my life but when I'm having a particularly vivid dream my dream body will begin to buzz/vibrate with this emotion I have never felt in waking life it is a positive emotion. Buzzing/vibrating is the best I can describe it but it really doesn't give it justice there's really no word in the english language or maybe any language that can truly describe it. But I was wondering if anyone's ever attempted to give it a name that at least somewhat accurately describes it.
1 AnswerPsychology3 months agoIs it still crossdressing if a man wears something associated with women but made for men?
Like a thong that's made for men that would clearly not even fit a woman as they always have a pouch in front making it clear it's for men. I know that if a random person saw a guy wearing it they'd assume he's a crossdresser because even the existence of thongs made for men is not really public knowledge at least in America but I'm not asking if people would think it's cross dressing I'm asking is it actually crossdressing? I would assume no as it would go against the definition of a crossdresser.
2 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender3 months agoHow powerful would a explosion or other destructive force have to be to destroy a entire galaxy?
In the well known and popular game Halo the aliens called the covenant have a massive planet sized weapon that's called a Halo that's capable of destroying a entire galaxy the weapon even had it's own gravity and atmosphere. The covenant had the weapon as a last resort defense against the zombie outbreak known as the flood that has been spreading across the galaxy. The covenants logic was if they destroyed everyone and everything the flood would deteriorate and eventually be wiped out due to having no food source or anyone around to turn into one of them. Obviously the humans had a problem with that plan believing the flood could be stopped without having to just kill everyone and it is part of the reason why the humans and the covenant are at war. The first of the Halo games has a large portion of the game on the Halo as you are doing what you need to do to destroy while the covenant troops are trying to stop you.
So I was curious how strong would that Halo actually have to be if it really was capable of destroying the galaxy?
7 AnswersVideo & Online Games6 months agoHow contagious is someone who threw up?
I have a fairly severe phobia of throwing up had it ever since I was a child. No one likes throwing up but for me it's quite a bit worse. I typically get panic attacks and wish I were dead I've also experienced derealization before vomiting a few times and my surroundings will seem dark and foggy. Throwing up to me is easily a top 5 worst experience ever and I once had doctor's change a open wound without the proper pain medication dosage.
Just now I overheard someone say they just threw up and it scares me a little because I was sitting near her. I've read that bacteria from vomit are airborne but I'm pretty sure that you'd have to be pretty close to the vomit for it to reach you. Though she did cough a few times in the room I was in without covering her mouth did she cough out whatever made her vomit into the air? She was sleeping in the chair and I was on the couch the couch can fit 3 people and I was on the farthest end from her is that far enough or should I sit even farther away from her?
Other - General Health Care8 months agoRepeatedly putting myself in unnecessary danger in a dream?
I have a few recurring dreamscapes. The dreams are different and I do different things but the area I do them in is the same. One recurring place I see pretty often is a amusement I'm even able to recognize certain rides as something I previously seen before. There's this one short but dangerous ride it goes upside down a couple times and there's very little holding you in. In my dreams I always feel fear while riding it and I hate that ride and try to avoid it but I always end up riding it at least once it's usually the first ride I go on and then I try to avoid it the rest of the dream. I have had dreams where I rode it more than once and I sometimes go on it myself or there's a dream character pushing me to ride it. Such a ride would never be allowed to exist in real life because it would likely kill a lot of people.
1 AnswerDream Interpretation8 months agoIs Hulu live TV a good alternative to cable?
I looked through the channels they have and they have most of them but they are missing one and it's a big one, comedy central. It's not really a deal breaker but it's a notable loss and I don't know how they could leave it out. It comes down to cost for me. I was paying around 70-90 for cable until I cut it off due to moving and I never came back to it because I never had time to set up my TV. Now I use Netflix and Amazon prime which is discounted with my Medicaid and Hulu which is discounted as well because of ads. I watch my shows and movies on my phone and laptop. I have a couple interviews coming up and hope one of them will turn into a job and I was thinking if Hulu live TV is better and cheaper than cable maybe I'll get that once I get the job.
1 AnswerTVs9 months agoUnholy miracle?
That's the term I just came up with to describe it but was wondering if there's a actual term for it. Like if something happened that was so unlikely and miraculous that it seemed like divine intervention but the thing that happened was evil in nature so it couldn't of been gods will? Like maybe someone was able to just barely get away with a very serious crime. Can the devil work miracles too?
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 months agoWhere can I find statistics on black American's attitudes towards black nationalism/militia?
Anyone with eyes and a brain can see that black American's tend to sympathize with extremist ideologies then other races in America. It's largely due to racial anger being passed down by generation in black families. I'll be ignoring all the white people in the answers claiming this known fact that black people themselves admit to be true is "racist" or any attempts to deflect with fallacies like "what about the radicalization of young white men" as if the two can possibly be comparable. I simply want a link to statistics/studies if any exist.
3 AnswersPolitics10 months agoWhy does she keep teasing me if she isn't in to me?
I had a crush on this woman I know for a while and for a bit I thought she liked me but she I recently overheard her talking about me to some other women and among the things she said one was "I'm not going to have sex with him" which is something I never expected to her though I'd obviously be down for it if she was. She has and continues to make sexual remarks around me which she always says loudly and it's often jokingly but why would you do that around someone you think likes you and you don't share the same feelings for them? Again she continues to do these things. Just a couple hours ago I was by myself in the kitchen and she walks in and randomly makes a orgasm noise and then stares at me. I catch her looking at my butt and crotch a lot which flattered me at first but now it just confuses me. She'll passive aggressively make comments about me that are sexual in nature when I'm in hearing range as well. She kind of codes it but I know it's about me due to how specific it is. With all the stuff she does how could I not get the wrong idea? Then she turns around and talks kind of negatively about me behind my back? What is her problem? I'm trying to stay cool with her but I'm beginning to feel anger towards her because of this.
2 AnswersSingles & Dating10 months agoWhy do Democrats like to gaslight so much?
They open our borders in the 60's and 40 years later claim they always been open. They point to the poem on the statue of liberty about taking in the "tired and hungry" but that poem isn't original it was put there later on and it was written by a communist. They ban automatic weapons in the 80's and 20 years later claim automatic weapons always been banned and then they call semi automatic rifles "assault weapons" to create fear and support for a ban as it makes people think there's still legal automatic weapons. I'm sure there's other examples but those are the most obvious examples and don't feel like doing research for a simple Yahoo answers post.
6 AnswersPolitics10 months agoWhy can’t we all just wear masks and glasses?
We’re going through economic problems but it’s not like this recession is natural a metaphorical economic bubble didn’t burst it’s caused by how we’re dealing with the virus and cutting off non-essential jobs. I don’t really see why we can’t just distribute masks and some sort of safety glasses and then open everything up
and put all the future canceled events back on the calendar and tell everyone to go back to normal and pretend like the virus isn’t even here. Seems like that would be a lot cheaper then what we’re doing now. And if you’d argue that we can’t because not everyone will wear them then I say oh well to bad for them they’re only hurting themselves they’re not hurting people who are actually protecting themselves. It’s not a matter of not having money to distribute them to everyone either because again doing that is a lot cheaper then causing a recession completely out of mismanagement.
3 AnswersEconomics1 year agoWhy do a lot of religious people refuse to admit there’s violence in their scriptures?
One of my friends is a Muslim girl from Hungary she’s very moderate and dresses like typical western young adult woman she doesn’t wear head scarfs are anything like that. We don’t talk about religion much but one time I did try to make the argument to her in a way I hoped she might understand. I said something like “you might be very moderate but isn’t it possible that a religion that follows a prophet that was known to get into wars courage encourage people who are not civilized as you to commit violence in the religions name?” She told me that there was nothing in Islamic text that endorses violence and then she asked to change the subject because she didn’t like arguing with me. I didn’t keep arguing with her about it after that so I didn’t tell her this but her claim that there’s no violence in Islamic text is simply not true. However it’s not just Muslims who deny this. Many religious people of all faiths deny this. I seen a lot of Christians accepting of homosexuality deny that the biblical texts that endorse murder of homosexuals exist. Islamic terrorists don’t just do what they do out of their own free will. Islamic scripture clearly says to behead non-believers, hang homosexuals, etc. Groups like ISIS is just taking what the scriptures say literally. Of course sane people who are not complete barbarians don’t follow any of these scriptures that are largely in the Old Testament today but they are there and what good is pretending they don’t exist?
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 year agoWhy does aids have a near 100% fatality rate until drugs that slow it down came out?
I know that the disease starts as HIV and then progresses into AIDS which then leads to death. I know the reason the body can’t fight it off is because it immediately targets your immune system when it gets into your body. Knowing that I never really asked why HIV/AIDS is so lethal because it was obvious. But then I learned that Ebola also immediately targets your immune system when it enters your body. So that led me to ask why HIV/AIDS is so lethal when it’s far from the only disease that attacks your immune system.
1 AnswerSTDs1 year agoHaving the intuition to know when you're compatible with someone?
Earlier today I saw someone on twitter who caught my interest and I checked out her profile and I decided this was someone I'd like to get to know so I DM'd her. She responded and we ended up talking for over 3 hours to she had to go to bed. We talked about some personal things and she told me she was married but her husband cheated on her multiple times and she may divorce him. Before going to bed she told me she wanted to continue to talk to me and she text me when she wakes up tomorrow.
This isn't the first time I've done this type of thing, I seem to have a ability to automatically tell if I'm compatible with someone whether it before friendship compatibility or romantic compatibility. It's always a specific feeling I feel when seeing them which draws me towards them. I almost never just decide to message someone I usually only do that in the rare cases that someone gives me that feeling I talk about. Also I'm straight but I can and have gotten that feeling from guys as well because the feeling isn't necessarily romantic it's a sort of intuition which could lead into a romantic relationship but not always.
