  • Why are muslims so afraid of dogs?

There's quite some muslims where I live and they act all bold and **** things up, except when there's a dog around. Somehow they all seem terrified of dogs, no matter if it's a german shepard, chihuahua or a puppy, they avoid them by walking past in a big circle or scramble to the other side of the bus.

So what is it that makes them afraid? (I've also seen them afraid of a bunny, are they afraid of all animals!?)

  • Why are American people so afraid to eat raw eggs?

I often watch cooking videos but whenever raw eggs are used in an uncooked dish (like chocolate mousse) people are freaking out in the comments, complaining about salmonella!? I have never heard such thing where I live, people use raw eggs for many uncooked dishes and no one every complains about it or even thinks about getting a disease from it. I was also always told that salmonella is pretty much just spending some time on the toilet if you're a healthy adult.

Is it common in the US to get sick from eating raw eggs or is it just more of a myth that people think you can die or something from eating raw eggs?

  • What vegetables can I feed my yellow bellied slider?

I used to have a neighbour with aquariums and he's give me some of his cabomba for my turtle every week, but now he has moved. I can't really set up anything to grow the cabomba myself, so I'm looking for veggies that my turtle can eat. I've tried tomato and carrot, but he doesn't eat it (as I kind of expected), I also read that they get diarhea from eating lettuce.

What other veggies are safe for my turtle? Cucumber? Zucchini? Bell pepper?

  • Can I place a gong in the garden (so outside) or will it rust?

We have an oriental garden and we d love to put a gong in it under our gazebo, but I m afraid that it won t do any good to the instrument when it s out in the weather. The weather over here varies from 30°C and sun in summer to -10°C and snow in winter. We could take it inside during winter, but we don t wanna take it inside everytime it rains etc.

I ve searched some information about gongs and found that all (at least the ones that I found) are made of bronze, I know bronze doesn t rust, but I m still not sure if it can stay out in all the weather and not affect the sound (although we won t be using it a lot, mainly just as decoration)

So does anyone know if I can put it outside (all year around?) without any problems?

    What is this plant called?

I've seen it in the garden center a while ago and thought it looked quite nice, but it wasn't labeled. I was at the zoo yesterday and saw it again. I wanna look up some information on how to care for it before I buy one. It's just a bunch of these twigs hanging on a hook, no pot or soil involved.

(I know the picture focususes on the turtles but I noticed at home that I also photographed the plants :P )

  • Video's won't play on my laptop?

My laptop doesn't play any online videos, not on Youtube, not on Facebook, not on any other website. When I go on Youtube it says 'An error occured, please try again later'. I usually use Chrome as my browser, but I've tried Firefox and Internet Explorer but they have the same problem.

I have removed Chrome from my computer and reinstalled it, I've removed my browser history and cookies, I've closed all other tabs, I tried another internet connection, I checked if the date and time was right, but nothing works. I tried all the possible solutions that Chrome offers.

It sometimes does work though, but only for one of two videos and then I get the error again.

Does anyone know another solution to this problem?

  • Why do my pigeons swim in my pond?

I have a few pigeons and they casually swim in my pond. They just fly above the water and then somehow land on it and they re floating around like a duck. Then when they wanna get out they just flap their wings really hard so they can somewhat fly out and they just sit on the grass to dry a bit.

They have a birdbath in their cage, we have another in our garden and a little fountain next to our pond so it s not like they have no other choice.

Does anyone know why they are doing this? I m a bit worried to find one drowned some day...

Here s a pic of one of them http://i67.tinypic.com/24gndy0.jpg

  • Best way to treat a pigeon's broken wing?

I found a wood pigeon at the side of the road and one of its wings seem to be broken. I've done some research on how to treat such injury but I can't find a lot of information. I put him in a pigeon carrier with a towel on the bottom and some pigeon food and water (I have some pigeons/doves myself).

But what is the best way to make sure the wing heals? Some websites say to just leave it like that and that it'll heal on its own, other say to bandage it (in a figure 8 wrap?)

We don't have any wildlife shelters in my area and I don't want to take it to the vet because he'll either put it down (because many vets believe a broken wing can't be healed, though I've found quite some evidence online that it is possible, just haven't found information on how to actually heal it) or I'll have to pay the expensive vet bills for an animal that isn't even mine (sorry to sound cruel)

    Any advice is welcome!

  • Some clarification about going with your camper van to Austria?

We're planning to buy a camper van and go on holiday to mountainous countries, especially Austria. I've been reading a lot on it but I'm a little confused. I know that wild camping is forbidden, but what defines wildcamping?

Do they mean that it's forbidden to park your camper van at the side of the road to sleep there that night and drive further in the morning, or do they mean that it's forbidden to park you camper van there and take out your table and chairs, eat a meal outside your van, .... Because the former is what we're interested in to do, I know the latter is definitely forbidden and it's also no what we want to.

We don't really want to stay at any of these big campgrounds, we will also stay only one night at a certain location and then move on.

So can someone tell me if you're allowed to park your camper van and stay there for one night?

  • Is the Belgian singer Ian Thomas known in the US?

The Belgian media acts like he is some kind of big star over in the US, but I kinda doubt that he is though because he started off as a Justin Bieber rip-off and made some covers in Belgium, then he started making his own music and moved to LA and suddenly everyone in Belgium says (especially are media) thinks/says he's some celebrity in America.

So is this true? Have you ever heard from the singer Ian Thomas?

  • Are there really people in the US who don't want their kids vaccinated?

That's just so terrible and I really don't get why, I just saw this post on imgur about it and it made me wonder if it's really like that? Why would you not vaccinate your children? Do they want their kids to die or want to help spread a deadly disease? Why isn't it even a law that everyone has to be vaccinated? Where I live there's a law that says that everyone needs to get certain vaccines.

  • Do you still have to give your fingerprint when you want to go to Walt Disney World?

I watched some videos about the magic bands in WDW, it's a great system I think, but you also have your finger print checked when you enter the park?

Do they still do that? the videos were from a few years ago

I'd like to visit the park, but I'm really not comfortable with giving my fingerpint to them, that's privacy. In the country where I live, no one but the police or governmental institutions can ask for your fingerprint and I wouldn't mind sharing it with them, but an attraction park? That just seems shady as to why the need that....

(Also, why do they even do that? I don't see any use...)

  • Where can I have breakfast in Disneyland Paris?

I have an annual pass for Disneyland Paris and usually I don't have breakfast in the hotel we're staying in (you have to pay like €10 extra for it if you want breakfast)

I've already had breakfast at Annette's Dinner, character breakfast at Café Mickey and at Market House Deli. I also know that there's breakfast at The Earl of Sandwich, but I haven't tried that yet. I just discovered that you can also have 'express breakfast' at Restaurant en Coulisse, but that's just a croissant and a coffee.

So I was wondering if there's other restaurants there where you can have breakfast at Disneyland Paris? Usually breakfast there is the same or just a little more than in the hotel we're staying so it's always more fun to have breakfast at the park! :)

  • Why do they make a Star Wars movie with a female lead character, then completely ignore her in the merch?

They have figures in all size, from 6 tot 78cm, from all different brands, of all characters, even those with not more than 10min of screen time.

Yet, I ve looked around in every single toy store in the city (and that s like 8 of them!) and didn t find anything of the main character Rey.

So I went online and saw that there are like 3 figures, 2 from Disneystore and a Hasbro one, and they look nothing like her while the male characters mostly look very good.

I understand that it s mostly guys who like SW, but I guess they put a girl in the lead to attract more girls/women to go watch it... Same with the original 3 movies, they didn t make any proper Leia merch, until this year Disney came up with a Leia doll that was exclusive for the D23 expo, but only in a edition of 450 dolls worldwide (and I m one of the lucky ones who has one!!)

  • Why do you have to tip people in restaurants in some countries?

I mean, how stupid is that? They already get paid for working there so why would you have to give them more? I mean if they re really nice or help you out with something, but for just puting freakin plates of food on your table? It s not like a special talent or anything.... The only time I have given a tip to someone was when I fell off a little step inside the restaurant and they were all very helpful and concerned (although I was okay, I just kinda hurt my ankle :) ), I gave them a few € s then.

When I was in London last year and I noticed that they just put the tip ammount on my bill, it was even in the total ammount I had to pay! I just paid my food and they got angry because I didn t pay the full ammount on the bill. I told them that I did because I paid for the food, I even gave them an extra 1/2 £ for usi ng the toilet. In the end I managed to only pay the money I found rightful to pay. In the next restaurants I went to eat I asked prior to ordering if they would charge me the tip of the waitress on my bill and just left when they said they did.

I find this extremely rude how they just charge you a tip, I mean they CHARGE it!? A tip is something you should give when you really really really like the restaurant and the service, not just always.

So why is this? Is this in other countries too? I heard from someone its in the US too and I wanna go to Disneyworld one day so I wanna know if they will try to rip me off with this forced generosity . It s so rude :(

  • Why is the tax not just included in the price of an item in the US? (confused European...)?

I collect disney dolls and people on the forums about them are always saying they have to pay extra taxes on top of the item s price. Why don t they simply add it onto the price of the product? It makes absolutely no sense at all. Where I live, the only places where tax isn t added is places where companies buy their stuff.

Is it so it all seems cheaper than it actually is? Because we had such store here too and it went bankruptcy because of it.

  • Is it true that some people in the US army are not volunteers?

I was just watching a show on National Geographic about the US army and some people said they were not there voluntarily. Does that mean that their parents forced them to do so or is there in the US still some old thing where some people HAVE to go to the army?

If the latter, then that's really ****** up I think, especially for a country claiming to be so 'free'. How can you call it freedom when you're forced to risk your life for the stupid country you live in? I though such things only existed in poor undevelopped countries :S

If their parents forced them to do so, then I think they need to get some lessons in raising children, if such thing would happen where I live, your kids will be taken away from you!
