  • My boyfriend is “surprising” me with presents that my mom buys for him.?

I recently found out that my mom has been giving my boyfriend gifts for him to give me. The first time it happened was about 9 months into our relationship. She gave him a gift card which he later gave to me. The second time it happened was last month. She bought an encased rose and gave it to him to give to me as a “surprise.”

My boyfriend is a cheapskate. He refuses to buy me anything over $10 which is why I found it extremely weird when I saw that the gift card was $20 and that the encased rose was $30. When I mentioned this detail to my mom she admitted to me that she was the one who bought the gifts but that my boyfriend paid her back for them. She said she began to do this after I told her that I was a bit sad about the fact that I had not received any nice presents from my boyfriend 9 months into our relationship.

My mom tells me that I shouldn’t be upset about this issue since she’s just trying to help my boyfriend out since he is autistic and is unable to drive due to a physical disability.

Today I accidentally read a message from my mom to my boyfriend that said that she bought my Valentine’s Day present and that she will give it to him the next time he comes to our house. Receiving a gift from my boyfriend that was given to him by my mom just doesn’t feel the same as receiving a gift that he himself bought.

Am I wrong for being mad about the fact that my mom is buying gifts for me and then giving them to my boyfriend so he can surprise me with them?

  • Should I date my best friend even though I don't love him?

My best friend asked me to be his girlfriend a few days ago but I don t know what to tell him. He seems to be looking for a girl to marry while I just want a nice relationship. This would be my very first relationship and he would be my very first boyfriend. I just want to experience what its like to date someone and gain more experience with guys. I do have a huge crush on him, but I don't love him. I simply wouldn't marry him while he claims that he would marry me because I'm his type of girl. Will this be an issue between us? Should I still date him?

  • How can I get over my ex for good? It has been 5 years but I still can't stop thinking about him?

My ex and I began dating when we were in 8th grade and were together for 2 whole years. When I was a sophomore in high school, however, I went to a party with a bunch of seniors who offered my ex-boyfriend and I some alcohol and I decided to drink with them even though my ex begged me not to. I got so drunk that I ended up sleeping with one of the seniors and when I realized what had happened I felt so ashamed and guilty. My ex found out the next day and when I tried to talk to him about it I found out that he had removed me and blocked me from social media, etc. I tried creating different accounts on social media to be able to talk to him but he would always end up blocking me. I lost all contact with him for good and I haven't spoken to him ever since. I never got a chance to apologize or explain what happened. I am now a junior in college and I still can't get over him! I can't listen to music, watch movies, or play video games without thinking about him. I also tried to date other guys but my ex was always in my mind. I can't even be intimate with my current dates because all I think about while doing it is my ex. I haven't looked at his social media in a couple of years, however, I did take a peak two days ago just to see how he is doing. He is in a relationship now and seems to be very happy, so I don't want to try to add him again after 5 long years because there is no point on opening up old wounds. I just want to forget about what happened and I want to get over him.

  • How do you write "seven hundred and forty six thousandths" in numbers?

My books says 700,046 but I believe it should be 700.046 because the sentence has an "and" which indicates a decimal and the "thousandths" which also indicates a decimal place.

Which is correct? And if the other answer is correct then why?

  • Boys: How would you react if a girl put her head on your shoulder, either accidentally or intentionally?

I’m asking this for my psychology class.

How would you react if she was your girlfriend?

How would you react if she was your friend?

How would you react if she was an acquaintance?

How would you react if she was your crush?

What would make you leave her there?

What would make you push her away?

  • Why don’t people ever make eye contact with me? It really bothers me?

I’m a 21 year old and ever since I was in 5th grade I’ve noticed that people can’t look me in the eye when I talk to them or when they talk to me. Like a person and I will be having a conversation and I’ll be talking and the other person will just stare at the floor or look around, but they will never look at me. The same thing happens when I’m with more people. Say a person is talking, they will look at everyone in the group except me. When I talk, literally the whole group will look away or stare at the floor. I used to think that this was because I’ve always been quiet and shy and I would barely say anything to anyone. However, I’ve tried to change this by getting more involved in conversations, yet people never look me in the eye when we talk. One time I also went to a job interview and the interviewer also couldn’t seem to look at me. She just kept looking at my resume and her own paper work. My coworkers also seemed to refuse to look at me. I ended up quitting after a year to focus in college. When I was in high school I straight up asked my friends why they never looked at me and once said that I was just “too ugly to look at” and another one said that I have a very intense stare that scared him. The most unique response I got was that my look is so pure that it made her feel bad. I don’t think these things are true but it does bother me that NOBODY seems to be able to look at me when I talk to them. It makes me feel invisible, as if I was some sort of freak outcast.

  • I want to get rid of an item that brings me horrible memories but my mother won't let me?!?

There are a few stuffed animals I have at home that I've had stored for about 3 years now. Today I finally had the courage to see them again but they bring me such horrible memories about something extremely personal that happened to me 3 years ago. My mom knows that these stuffed animals bring me flashbacks but she doesn't want me to get rid of them because she says that "they're too pretty and unique." I've told her many times that I don't want to see them anymore because of how bad they hurt me emotionally and psychologically but all she tells me is that what happened to me wasn't a big deal and that I need to get over it (My memories have to do with an abusive ex who gave those to me and among other things). She is forcing me to keep something that brings me horrible memories and I don't want this!!! At this point I'm thinking about taking the stuffed animals from her and throwing them in the trash or donating them just so I don't have to see them anymore, even if she punishes me for the rest of my life. How do I convince her to just let me get rid of them?!

  • Does anybody know the name of this movie based on this scene?

I watched this movie a long time ago but I don't remember the name of it. All I remember is that it was a movie about Asian people and White people and that the movie was very violent and bloody.

In one scene, a white man with a mustache dressed in a suit starts to kill a bunch of Asians in a store or a house. When he is done killing them, he turns to look at an Asian woman dressed in a long pink kimono. The woman says something like "You're not going to hurt me, are you?" And the man says something like "Don't worry, I don't hurt or kill pretty women like you." Then the woman says "Thank you, sir." Suddenly she turns around and a guy gives the man another weapon and as the woman is walking away from the man, the man suddenly points his gun at her and shoots her from behind. She falls to the floor and dies.

This is the only scene I remember from the movie. I watched it in Mexico when it first came out and I remember that it was before 2010. If anybody knows the name of this movie please let me know!

  • How can I increase my resistance/endurance while exercising?

I've recently started exercising more. I walk everyday but I walk very slow. Lately I have been trying to walk faster to burn more calories but I can't seem to walk much because I start to feel extremely tired right away. I can't even jog because I immediately run out of breath. I want to change this, however. Any advice on how I can become a better walker/jogger and not get tired so easily? I exercise 5 times a week for 30 minutes, 3 times a day.

  • Why are these 2 fractions equal?

Right now I'm learning about equivalent fractions but my teacher didn't explain this lesson well. In my homework I have a problem that says: Determine which of the following pairs are equal. And the numbers are: 882/552 and 147/91.

I've tried to solve it multiple times and all I keep getting is that the fractions are not equal. However, my book says that they are equal. Can someone please explain why they are equal or how to solve them corrently?

  • My 20 year old daughter is extremely sensitive? How can I help her?

I have a 20 year old daughter that is EXTREMELY sensitive. She seems to cry about almost everything. Like one day when she was in high school, she asked one of her teachers to give her the notes she missed a day she was absent and the teacher said no because she wasn't allowed to. She came home crying and told me she was worried she would fail her class for getting behind. Another example is when one of her classmates interrupted her mid sentence and walked away from her. She told me she started crying as soon as her classmate turned around because she felt ignored. After this, my daughter decided to avoid her and not talk to her again. One last example is when I was taking out the trash and she asked me a question but I kind of yelled at her saying that I was busy and that I didn't want to talk at the moment. She went to her room crying. My daughter suffers from social anxiety and depression and she has always have a hard time with rejection. When she was little she would get extremely bullied and rejected by her classmates and teachers even. What makes me sad is that I don't have the money to pay her a psychologist or get her professional help. How can I help her stop being overly sensitive?

  • Ingrown toenail help?

Today I removed an ingrown toenail I had at home. I opened up the side of my big toe and I removed a big chunk of it. This made me feel a lot of relief on the side of my toe. However, I also noticed that I still had a lot of pain on the tip of my toe. It is literally on the tip and on the corner of my toe. Every time I press on it I feel extrutiating pain. I was thinking about using an exacto knife to cut where it hurts and see if it relived the pain but I was too scared to do it because of the pain. Could this pain I feel be an I grown toenail on the tip of my toe or could it be something else? I already removed the ingrown nail from the side of my toe so I don’t see how I could have one on the tip. Honestly going to a foot doctor is not a possibility for me since the removal would cost me $800 and I don’t have insurance nor the money to afford a doctor. This is why I had to do the surgery myself.

  • What does this dream mean?

I dreamt that I enrolled in a college or university and on my first day I got lost, I went to the bathroom, and there I saw this girl talking to her friend and I decided to ask her for help. At first I was very scared to talk to her because she looked very mean but she decided to help me. The next day I saw her in the bathroom and She aproached me and started having a conversation with me and I found this very weird because with her friends she seemed to talk very disrespectfully but with me she talked very fancy and formal. After this we started to hang out a lot and one day I told her I was beginning to have problems with some bullies and with some teachers. She told me she was going to protect me from them and led me to some secret places where I could hide from them. She showed me a tiny secret room in the bathroom, a secret passage in our school movie theater (Yes, I dreamt that the campus had a huge movie theater), and some others that I can't remember. For the next few days I would hide in these and sometimes my new friend would come to hang out with me. One day however she stopped hanging out with me and I wondered why. I checked my text messages and I read a message she sent me where she said that she was lesbian and she had a crush on me. I texted her back saying I was sorry but that I was straight and I could only see her as a friend. She didnt get mad but she did become very sad and isolated and after this I didn't see her as often as before. Later I woke up.
