Would you say it's preferable to have a Desktop computer over a Laptop?

I've heard they're easier to maintain and repair, but I like having my laptop for portable use. Perhaps having both would be a good idea?

It depends on personal preference.  Laptops are more convenient if you are moving around and using your computer in different locations, but there is always a price to pay for convenience.  I much prefer desktop computers because of a larger screen and a full keyboard.  I use a laptop as well when I travel but that's not very often.  Yes, I think both is a good idea, and I have both, but if I could only have one it would be a desktop.

Recently the sales of laptop passed the sale of desktop.  More people use laptops then desktops.

It is true that a desktop is easier to repair and upgrade.  But if you are not a person who does their own hardware repairs and upgrades, that is pointless.

Desktops cam be more powerful then laptops, and can have more options because they have room to put more components inside them.  But for the average person who is going to Facebook, email and streaming a few videos, a laptop is all they need.  Unless you are planning to play all the latest games at top screen resolution, you do not need a desktop.

If you get a laptop, you can always put it on a desk. plug in a mouse and keyboard, add a monitor, and use it exactly they way you would a desktop.
