First, a Mr. Clean magic eraser to get the majority of physical scum off. Then, depending on the material that the tub is made of, you could maybe try some CLR to get the rust stains off.

Depends on what the tub is made of.

I have an acrylic tub and use a Magic Eraser on it and it works wonders.

You aren't going to treat a porcelain tub the same way you would an acrylic tub.
